What is breaking on all the systems that are causing the 3 red lights? Is it a certain chip? Its not overheating cause mine blew after 8 months....it was sitting cold, turned it on..wham..there were the 3 red lights. It has to be a certain flaw in the design somewhere...anyone know what it is?

It seems that most die between 6 months and 10 months old. If you make it one year, they seem to last a little longer. I wonder if Microsoft sent the engineer team that designed the 360into a shark infested baby pool?!

Mine was 8 months old...then it got the black plague (also known as 3 red lights). My elite is 1 month old and no problems yet.....I wonder if Microsoft hired hundreds of people just to fix broken 360's??

halo 3 is the coffin killer for the ps3. The ps3 is dead right now, don't believe me? Go to any eb/gamestop...they can't give them away. Thery are ALWAYS in stock, wii's and elite's.....almost always sold out.......sony might get back with the ps4 ;)

here is a good trick to get more for your money. AT eb/gamestop..you get an extra 30% if you trade in 5 games. I had 3 360 games, not 5. I went to the big bin in the middle of the store. I picked out 2 old playstation 2 games that were 99 cents and bought them, I used my edge card so they were like 89 cents. they were old madden footballs. I then took out my 3 games and traded them in with the 2 maddens, making it 5 games. They added 30% onto my credit which added around 15 bucks to 20 bucks. Just a little trick you can do.

At EB and Gamestop stores, you NO longer have to trade in the case or the instruction to get FULL trade in credit!! I'm not joking, just keep the case and instructions from now on, they just want the disk!! You can often sell cases and instructions online. How low has eb/gamestop gotten? I traded in 3 games this weekend with no cases or instructions, they gave me full credit, plus an extra 10% credit when I traded in 3 games!

yes, at best buy, their warranty covers the price of whatever you buy, so technically, you could bring in your broken 360 and exchange it for 400 bucks worth of cd's and dvd's if you wanted.  I just brought my system in that was broke, and then payed the extra for an elite with a new warraty.  It cost 170.00 to do this.  Thats the price increase, tax, and new warranty....but if it keeps my elite from breaking, im happy.  I just want to make sure I always have a warranty because these systems are faulty.

My 8 month premium 360 died (3 rings of death) and I babied it.  I bought a warranty from best buy with it, thank god.  I took it back and upgraded to an elite. I bought another 2 year warranty.  Here is my question-With all the 360's failing all over the country, I was thinking that just before the warranty runs out in 2 years, I should sell it, then just pay a little extra to get a new one.  At least that way I will always have a warranty.  I dont want it to brake when I have no warranty, then I have a $500 paper weight.  What do you think?  I know the elites dont seem to have the same problems but they are still new.
