There is so many good books I have read to recommend just one. I would recommend anything by Harlan Ellison, especially his short story collections. The Jack Ryan series of books from Tom Clancy are all great. I especially enjoyed Red Storm Rising, The Hunt for Red October, Rainbow Six, and The Bear and the Dragon. If you're interested in a real vampire story then I would recommend the Necromancer series by Brian Lumley.

yea, it looks great, but I'm 17 and the movie theater won't let me just sneak in with a friend. the R rated movies are in one hall, and the pg movies are in another. Sucks really. I'll have to go by myself to see it.mohfrontline

You can see a rated-R movie at age 17. If you're under 17 then you need a guardian. Some theatres may misinterpret the rating as "17 and under."

And yes, I am going to see it. I am predicting District 9 to be the best sci-fi movie ever.

Katanas... they are awesome... and they are used by ninjas...

KHfanboy2

Katanas are used by the samurai.

Katanas are best because they can slice through the other two swords anyway.

The Cube was second as far as power. The X-box was more powerful as far as raw power but it was not like huge leaps ahead but still ahead.Yes they did do some great stuff with the cube though and the metroid prime games still look impressive to me to this day.fubbal

The only thing Xbox had going for it was the nVidia-based GPU it used. Back then one could argue that ATi had the better graphics hardware anyway. As far as raw power goes though, the nVidia GPU had the edge. The CPU though based on the Pentium III was a piece of crap. The Gamecube's processor, based on PowerPC 4, was far superior to the PIII.

Xbox was superior:

Sure those still images and the one render look great. But Halo 2 had the most horrible LOD and texture popup I have ever seen in a game.

I bought a Diamond Rio 128MB MP3 player back in 1999 as a freshman in high school. When people so it everyone thought it was so cool. After a couple of weeks almost everyone I saw walking down the halls and on my bus had one. So I'd like to think that I started the whole MP3 player craze.

So many good sci-fi movies to just pick one. These are some of my all-time favorites though.

  • Zeitgeist
  • Metropolis
  • Children of Men
  • Akira
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Transformers: The Movie (1987)
  • Bladerunner

I also hereby submit that District 9 will be the greatest sci-fi film of all time.

I didn't make the move to HD until about 2 1/2 years ago and it does take some adjusting at first, but you won't notice it after a while. Lag is inherent in HDTVs which is a sad reality. The worst experience I had was with Rock Band where I have lag compensation in the game set to 30 ms for my LCD. On my DLP it was only 5-10 ms. Overall though I think my gaming experience has been heightened and it's worth it.

Aim-assist needs to be an option that can be turned off. There are so many time while playing CoD4 that I'd try to aim for someone's head and it would inch its way down to their chest. Developers need to know that it isn't needed with joysticks. My aim is perfectly fine before aim-assist decides to interfere.

There is a significantly larger MMO audience on PC compared to consoles, MMORPG's are one of those genres that haven't been adapted for consoles very well yet.

AnnoyedDragon

Final Fantasy XI was made for the PlayStation 2 and it worked extremely well on consoles including the Xbox 360 version. There was close to five million users worldwide at one point.
