I loved it up until the point the rubber banding AI started to get a bit tedious.Canvas_Of_Flesh

Still, the triggered cinematic destruction is a great concept. I also thoroughly enjoyed MotorStorm Apocalypse for similar seat-of-your-pants destruction but it too suffers from tedious rubber-banding AI.

By the way, Naughty Dog confirmed that the video trailer was entirely in-engine (no post processing).

They're real. It's hard though to tell which are from cut-scenes and which are from gameplay. Cut-scenes from Uncharted were pre-rendered (using the game engine) so I'd expect that in The Last of Us too. There are some amazing scenes in UC2 and UC3 and they have improved the engine further. From the screenshots and video released so far you can see an improvement in lighting and edge smoothing (slight halo/blur instead of traditional anti-aliasing rechniques from what I can tell). A few shots show low-poly objects and some low-res textures. I'm not sure if they're justfrom unpolished work or have been deliberately chosen to keep the scene within the rendering budget - they continue to tweak these things right up to the release.

There are a few 3D trailers for games. Off the top of my head: Uncharted 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse, The Fight, and one of the tennis games. Make sure you pick the videos with 3D in the title. There was also one or two 3D "sizzle" trailers early on which showcased some of the 3D that was to come but they were largely unimpressive (little depth, did not seem to be true 3D footage from games).

They should definitely release a lot more 3D trailers and other videos. Sonyuse custom 3D video tags in the videos to get full resolution 3D clips (instead of side by side or top bottom). Sony would have to author them so they're not likely to be produced by the game developers directly, limiting their utility. If Sony released the tech specs then others might be able to make use of it too to get more great 3D content.

There are no games that span 2 discs (yet). Uncharted 3 clocked in at just under 50GB, mostly for 2D and 3D cutscenes. Killzone 3 was over 40GB.

By far the most byte consuming content in games is video, textures and other graphics andaudio.

Just plug in one or two 16GB USB memory sticks and that will extend your space to download. I have a 250GB and it's almostfull. Lots of downloaded games and demos, DLC, game data, several installed games, etc. Add the memory sticks or buy a HD off ebay etc and install it yourself. Make sure it is compatible with the 360 - any old HD won't do.

For those THINKING of getting a 4GB model:

If you plan to download games, demos, DLC or install games then do NOT buy a 4GB model.Low cost of entry into Xbox 360 but you quickly realise the limitations. You can get250GB models new cheaper than buying a 4GB and adding a 250GB HD later. Just save up for it. I pity the people who's folks bought one just because it was cheaper (like two people I know at a local club) :(

The 3D version (it can also be played in 2D) of MotorStorm Pacific Rift was released on PSNaround June 2010 for around $10. It contains about 8 of the tracks and lacks some features from the full game but is a blast.

The controller for the PS3 can't be any worse, the Xbox 360 is the best controller their is today.

brimmul777

I have 5 consoles (had many more but they got too old and now I use MAME and MESS ;) ) but only currently use the 360 and PS3. So I've used a bunch of controllers (and for PC). I prefer the grip and weight of the 360 controller but that's about it. I much prefer the stick and button layout of the PS3 controller. My hands are symmetrical so I want the f'ing controller to be. Why MS chose the layout on the 360 controller I don't know - my only guess was not to infringe on a patent but it was too late for them to change once they released it. After a few hours I feel the strainin my left hand. Liking the options of the Madcatz! Considering picking one up.

Since I have the 60GB model I have had it for a long time, I have played probably most exclusive games on the PS3 besides the new Twisted Metal so not many more games for me to try, might go to a shop or two and ask what they would give me.

Blake135

What about these upcoming exclusives:

Starhawk
The Last of Us
The Last Guardian
Dust 514
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Journey
Agent

Absolutely. Here's a short list (off the top of my head) of games you should play:

Basinboy
And these: Gran Turismo 5 Motorstorm series Rachet and Clank series Warhawk Little Big Planet series MLB: The Show series Wipeout HD God of War HD collection Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection Jak and Daxter HD collection Sly HD collection For the future there is also The Last Guardian, the still in production Agent (but it's ghostware so far), Dust 514, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, and for something different Journey.
