I think the more important issue here would be funding. I dont really think anyone is going to tell you to not do anything about it. Assuming you could afford it i say get the implant if its proven effective ( havent personally researched it ).

You will absolutely have to drag your healthcare provider through the mud and to the fiery pits of hell to get them to pay for something like this. Depending on who you have they simply wont.

Hey guys, this is a big decision but it comes best seeing other's opinions.

I am hard of hearing in my left ear, and I wear a hearing aid. I am completely deaf in my right. I started wearing a hearing aid around 13 or 14, my hearing gets lesser every day! I lost my hearing mostly to ear infections when I was first born, alot of pain it was, it tore up my nerves. I do put up with alot of bullcrap from school, because I am deaf, but I have many friends too who take up for me or else I fight back and get suspended for defending myself, you see how immature kids are in school. I have been tired of it, so I want to finally change! I have heard about the Cochlear Implant..but I don't like having a device in my skull but it seems like a good deal, it will let me hear..its been hard. Also, Stem Cell Research which they could replace my hearing with nerves, and I'll be like a normal person. But I can't do that in Alabama, where I live, because most people think it is 'against God's will' and it is now illegal to do that here. What are your opinions?

These new bands have been horrible for 2007-08. Anyone know any good ones? This list is the best I have heard. I have some more, but these are the really good ones. I admit the HED PE ones have quite the language, so some users might be offended by the F word and some others..
