Jeff is probably t'd off if indeedhe was fired for doing his job. If that was really the case what game do you think he would want to play. I would say Call of Duty 4 to take out some frustration in a fairly productive way, I mean he loves games. What game do you think he is playing?
In no specific order.
Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Chrono Trigger, Rock Band, and Bioshock.

Rock Band is the game I want to play the most at this moment. If only the game wasn't 170 bucks. Wow that's a steep price.
Uncharted- Probably the most fun I had with a game all year. I want a sequel now dammit. I loved the pacing, combat, shooting, graphics, sound, graphics...
COD4- Almost the complete package, if only the single player wasnt short and the AI isn't the worst AI evarrr. Multi player is a blast, complete opposite of run and gun, and I will be playing it for a while I hope.
PGR4- I haven't played it in a while with so many other games that came out but its really refined and a blast.
Warhawk- I only have one friend who plays this but we have an absolute blast playing together. Lots of strategy involved, no whiny kids, lots of replay value.
NHL 08- EA has done an amazing job with the skill stick, skating engine, graphics, multiplayer, you name it. Its the most fun I had with 4 players in a long time.
Some disappointments are
Assassins Creed- Im struggling to get through. Im on the 7th Assassination and I just wanna get through it asap so I can return it (overdue) and rent Mass Effect. I hate the matrix aspect and it pretty much guarantees to return in a sequel, otherwise the story would have to be completely different. Im hoping the next one takes place in modern day New York or something, still having the whole climbing aspect, ofcourse with much larger buildings, and snipers and guards with snipers on roof tops. Maybe something like Bourne. I know it seems weird to say that but you can transfer many of the gameplay elements over and it could be really sweet.
Bioshock- The death penalty (lack of) pretty much ruined the game for me but thats not all. I went in thinking it would be my GOTY but i couldnt connect with the story, hated the enemies, combat wasnt fun...I was just really disappointed with the design choices.
Halo 3- The single player is a blast minus the last few missions but multiplayer is what disappointed me. I got really tired of it. Ya I sucked really bad, but I find that its less about strategy and more about knowing how to take advantage of glitchs like shotgun->melee or using the sword to lock on. I would lunge at the enemy and fly right over them at times or just completely miss while enemies will lunge at me and never miss even when on lower ground. I could never figure out how people do things like this. In cod4 for example, if you are in position and shoot the guy, he goes down, thats it. None of this, throw 10 nades, waste two clips and get killed in .2 seconds.

Wow I can't see being dissapointed with Bioshock. Yeah the penalty isn't perfect when you die but that's just one small qualm compared to all the greatness the game offers. Halo 3 and Assassin's creed where definintely overhyped, but I don't see those as dissapointments. A dissapointment to me is something like Perfect Dark Zero. Now that's just disgusting.
since i sold my ps2 (worst mistake of my gaming life) and my pc is **** i depended on my DS for my entertainment needs so, the top 5 best games i played the past 11 months are:
1)hotel dusk: i love this game to death, that is all
2)pokemon diamond: it's been awhile since i played a pokemon game (kinda dozed off after ruby). too bad i didn't get the chance to take advantage of its online gameplay mechanics
3)the sims 2 series: i bought the whole collection of expansion packs till seasons. had tons of fun, too bad my gaming PC's dead
4)zelda phatom hourglass: i don't play a lot of zeldas simply cos i don't have the systems, so i was excited when i knew it's coming to the DS. awesome game, but somehow i couldn't care for it enough to finish it. maybe later when i buy my DS lite
5)metroid prime: easily the highlight of the year for me. borrowed a friend's gamecube and after a full week of prime goodness this game just so happens to be one of my favorite games of all time.

Could Hotel Dusk be the most overlooked game of the year?
