The enitre point of this thread seems to be for some kid to have validation that he hates WoW and wants to see how many others do to.  Its a pointless thread.  There's no real discussion here.  I've played WoW, i'm tinkering with the expansion, but I play maybe four hours a week.  Its entertaining and I like the visuals (most realistic-looking games bore me), but I enjoy other games too.

If you've played it, and don't like it, then that's fine.  If you haven't and just hate it for no reason, well, that's just simple-minded.  If you hate it because "all my friends play it and wonder why I don't and ignore me... blah blah blah.", well listen kid, grow a thicker skin and suck it up.  Be your own person, but get over it and do what you want to do.  Just stop whining to the boards, most people couldn't give a damn about your whining.

I've been waiting for a good sci-fi MMO.  Huxley and Tabula Rasa look very interesting to me.  It seems like Huxley might have something for everyone, in both a good co-op mode, deathmatch, etc. However, it could just as well, have not enough for either, or be imbalanced in the different kinds of skills or gear you get.   I'd have to see more on the other game to make an opinion.

I haven't gotten around to reading all of it... in fact I haven't gotten around to reading 5 words of it. But in any case, what site is that again? Oh, right. It's AOL, America On Line. They say the 360 has the best controller, where is the 360's homeland? I'm not putting down the US (I live here). I'm just saying, without Japan we wouldn't be as well off in gaming as we are now. In fact we might not even have games (because after the game crash Nintendo started gaming back up. And Nintendo was founded in Japan).Arcanine_88

If it weren't for AIM, I doubt AOL would even still exist.  I would trust their opinion of video games in the slightest, pro or con.  The funny thing is, this is entirely from the console point of view.  We only see PC games from American and European companies in the US.

I would quit console gaming altogether if there weren't any Japanese developers because the only games that would exist would be sports (need more variety than then endless Madden and 2K# clones) and FPS (enough is enough already, its boring).  You'd get the occasional Rayman and SSX, but that's all.  The RPG market would completely dry up.  Games like Oblivion and KoTOR are the rare exceptions of good western RPGs (on consoles that is).  And fighting games too.  Unless Rare rezzes Killer Instinct, we'd be at the mercy of unending Mortal Kombat clones.

In terms of difficulty?  It makes the Xbox Ninja Gaiden feel like Pong.  Its one of the great challenges in video gaming.  Only made it to the last boss once...

[QUOTE="Telekill"]http://www.kabutocho.net/news/livenews/dl_79854.html Last weekend Ken said 4 million PS3's have shipped. For those of you don't know what shipped means, it means sold to retailer or whole sellers. That is, the PS3's are not owned by SCE anymore, Instead someone like Gamestop, Best Buy, K-mart, has to pay for the wearhousing and wait for someone like us to buy it. http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=59719

Great!  No really!  Just wake me up when there are at least 3 games worth getting for the system.  Until then, let Best Buy enjoy them.

Halo - I first played it after playing games like Far Cry, so the graphics didn't impress and I just think Serious Sam was more fun.
Metal Gear Solid series - I loved the original Metal Gear. Something's missing with MGS. I liked the story, but it wasn't enough to keep me playing.
Resident Evil 4 - I think the jury is still out on that one in all honesty. Played for about 4 hours, didn't take.
Final Fantasy VIII - I don't think everyone loved this game, but if you have a FF game, its got to have at least two of the three following things: Great story, likable characters, excellent gameplay.  For me, it failed on all three.

Huh, I guess this just says it takes alot to impress me with first or third person shooters. I loved Half Life.

If you enjoyed the FFX story, you'll enjoy FFVI, definitely.  In my mind, the pinnacle story of all the main line FF games.  So much depth, and best of all, in this version the script has been tweaked just enough so that the translation is better than before, but the same point is portrayed.

[QUOTE="Snake_Vapour"]It got the best rating for probably any other FF remake and I don't know if I should get it? Is it really an experience that I can't miss? Gemini_Red

Short answer: They gave a 13 year old game a score of 8.9, that alone should tell you something.

Long answer: While I'm sure I'll get some flak for this, FFVI is the very best of the entire series IMO(Sorry but I do think VII is highly overrated). Nearly all the charachters had interesting back stories and a sound reason to be involved. The plot while typical of every RPG out there(save the world), is definately the most interesting in the series and exciting to watch unfold. There are so many charachters that are memorable. Finally, the main villain of the game is portrayed in sucj a way that you want nothing more than the meet and destroy him in the final battle. Kefka is one of those villains Square portrayed perfectly. A twisted psychotic who is completely uncaring, and without remorse. People like to tout Sephiroth as the best, my vote still goes to Kefka.

GS scored this game as high as they did with good reason: It is that good. Buy it.

You, good sir, are 110% correct.  Couldn't have said it better.

Any RPG fan does themselves a massive disservice to skip on this game.
