Yeah, Portal Prelude is awesome. There are a lot of great mods out there if you know where to look

This gen looks a lot better than the last one. 

Regardless of that fact, new generations happen because of business reasons.  Microsoft released the 360 was because the original xbox had an install base of around 20 million compared to PS2's install base of 100 million. New generations of consoles are inevitable as the competition tries to get a leg up on the other.
