Not everybody who would like one has room or money for a pool table.

Years ago I had a PC pool game called Virtual 3D Pool or something like that. The physics were great and it worked very well with a mouse. It was so accurate with things like putting english on the ball that it improved my game on a real pool table.

Through the entire (single) time I tried playing Wii Play billards I kept wondering why they couldn't manage to make it work anywhere near as well as that very old PC game. Since then I've been wondering when someone will come out with a decent pool game.

I remember having to calibrate the light-guns too.

My Wii seems very accurate aiming-wise from where I usually sit. However, I haven't bothered trying to sight down it directly or anything. I think the wiimote feels more responsive than the light-guns used to, but it's been a long time.

Doesn't Zelda have some kind of remote calibration in game?

I ran across an artical dated 2/13/07 at http://wii.ign.com/articles/764/764339p1.html about FPSs on the Wii There's one part I can't seem to make sense of:

"When I was in this position a year ago I was still under the impression that the Wii's controller could be used as a light gun. We now know that isn't possible (or if it is, it hasn't been done yet), so right off the bat we've got the issue of non-pin point controls on Wii. That is to say, there won't be any light gun/FPS hybrid games that actually have you pointing and shooting at enemies like in so many Wii promos: It just isn't how the controller works."

This article came out about the same time as Wii Play, and I could have sworn the shooting game in that was the wiimote being used like a light gun. Why wouldn't that work in an FPS? This may have an obvious answer since I haven't really played FPS games much so I don't understand what is so different about that shooting method. However, I'd been looking forward to trying some light gun FPS games because it seemed like a great deal of fun. Why wouldn't pointing and shooting at enemies work on the Wii?

It just seemed to take a little planning and patience. I'm in Connecticut.

Mine was my x-mas gift from my husband. I ended up unwrapping Zelda TP for the holiday but being unable to play it. He made a habit of calling Best Buy, Target and Walmart for the following 2 months. When he found out the stores were expecting a few to be available one Sunday he just showed up at Walmart when it opened and got one. He'd had plans to hit whichever store opened an hour or so later than Walmart if he didn't get one there.

BTW, he isn't a gamer but has been playing at least Wii Sports every day since we got it.
