Thanks for the awesome feedback on my first 5 choices!  Sounds like you guys are liking the list so far!  Well, without further ado, I'll get right to the next 5!  Here's choices #20-16!

#20) NFL Blitz
Release Date: 1997, 1998
Consoles: Nintendo 64, Playstation, Arcade

NFL Blitz is both my all time favorite football game and my favorite arcade game.  I can't even begin to guess how many quarters me, my brother, and our friends put into this machine at our local bowling alley.  Nothing was more fun than a four-player, over-the-top football action arcade game where penalties don't matter and you can harrass your opponent after the play is finished.  The late 90s NFL Blitz games are what ultimately made me a fan of the sport.

#19) Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Release date: 2003
Console: GameCube

My favorite Mario Kart game and one of the most fun multiplayer experiences around.  I always loved the two characters per kart feature in this game, as I feel it added an extra layer of strategy to the game when you consider that the racers all have different weights, karts, and special personal items.  The feature also allowed two players to co-op on one kart, which is a whole lot more fun then you might think.  I also feel like Double Dash!! had some of the best courses and music in the series.

#18) Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Original Release Date: 1992
Original Console: Sega Genesis

I love Sonic the Hedgehog, and I certainly love his second Genesis appearance.  Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is one of the most colorful and fun games I've ever played, and was one of the definitive games of my childhood.  This is one of those games that I can just pick up and play anytime and it's just as fun today as it was when I played it for the very first time. The craziest part about this making my list though, is that I've never beaten it.  That's right, I've never finished this one!  I've gotten to the Dr. Robotnik robot at the end of the game, but I've never managed to finish that sucker off.  Someday, it will happen!  

Also, this game had one of the best soundtracks ever.  EVER. 

#17) Super Smash Bros.

Original Console: Nintendo 64

A game that is featured in some of my fondest childhood memories, the original Super Smash Bros. had it all.  Nintendo's best characters together duking it out in four player action was a dream come true.  This game was the one that introduced me to characters like Samus, Captain Falcon, and Ness for the very first time.  This also came out during the Pokemon boom of the late 90s, so seeing Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and tons of cameo appearances by other Pokemon was something that just made me ecstatic.  Now, all this nostalgia isn't the only reason this game makes my list.  The fact is that Super Smash Bros. is still incredibly fun to play and it never gets old.

#16) F-Zero GX
Release Date: 2003
Console: GameCube

F-Zero GX might be the most underrated game in the entire GameCube library.  This is the most fast-paced and fun racing game I think I've ever played.  30 racers all racing at high speeds on crazy courses was some of the most fun to be had on the system.  The soundtrack was awesome, the graphics are some of the best on the GameCube, and there is a ridiculous amount of content to unlock and enjoy.  The multiplayer was very fun as well.  The only real drawback is that the game can be incredibly difficult, but the difficulty is part of what makes it fun.  It's a challenging game that just keeps bringing you back to play.

I'm STILL waiting for the sequel to this.  Please, Nintendo? 

This is it.  I've been wanting to make this list for a long time, and I'm now finally getting my lazy butt into gear and sharing my 25 favorite games of all time!  I've played many, many games over my 20 or so years of gaming, so narrowing it down to just 25 favorites really is no easy task.  I'm also sure many more games will come along in the future that will find a place on my list.  But for now, these are my current favorites.  I present to you my top 25 favorite games ever!

#25) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Original Release date: 2004
Original Console: Playstation 2

I played my first Metal Gear game on my Gamecube; the Twin Snakes edition of the first Metal Gear Solid title.  I loved it and I wanted to play the rest of the series, which was unfortunately impossible for someone who only owned a Gamecube. Years later, I had the opportunity to play the rest of the series on my PS3 system.  I can easily say that Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favorite game in this illustrious series.  The story was incredibly engaging (though, admittedly, confusing at times) and the characters were all interesting, intense, funny, and believable.  The Cold War setting was especially a unique and interesting one for the game, and I personally felt like I was playing through a game based on the Sean Connery James Bond era, which is awesome.

And that ending.  Oh man, that ending.... 

#24) Batman Returns
Original Release Date: 1993
Console: Super Nintendo

My favorite beat-'em-up ever.  Sure, it was basically just a knock off of Final Fight, but it totally had a winning atmosphere and of course the awesome Batman coating all over it.  Throwing clowns against walls and shattering pictures and street signs with their bodies is one of the most satisfying things I've ever experienced in a game.  I always loved the Winter/Christmas setting of this game too (and its movie counterpart!).  Still waiting for some kind of re-release of this...

#23) Contra III: The Alien Wars
Original Release Date: 1992
Original Console: Super Nintendo

There aren't many other games that make you feel like a big badass quite as well as the Contra games do, and Contra III is the best of the bunch.  Challenging, fast-paced, and hardcore, Contra III was probably the best action game on the Super Nintendo.  Best not to go it alone though, as having a friend play with you made this one of the best experiences around.  How many other games let you and a partner hang on flying missles while you fire everything you've got at an enemy ship that's firing said missles at you?  Exactly.

#22) Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire
Release Date: 2003
Console: Game Boy Advance

You know, it really pains me how underrated Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are.  I personally thought these games were superior to the Game Boy Pokemon games in every way.  The graphics were beautifully colored, the music was catchy, and the new Pokemon that were added are some of the most unique and awesome in the entire series.  When this game released, it was the absolute and unquestionable number one reason to go out and buy a Game Boy Advance.

#21) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Release Date: 2011
Console: Playstation 3

The most recent game to make my list, Uncharted 3 is a game that proves that good storytelling and acting can, in fact, be done in a video game as well or better than they can be done on a movie screen.  Not only that, but the graphics and action set pieces put most feature films to shame.  The game is also an absolute joy to play, as it features great action, platforming, and puzzles.  The online multiplayer and co-op is also some of the best I think I've ever played, as there is enough content and unlockables to keep you busy for months and months.

For a while now I've really been wanting to create and share a list of my favorite games of all time.  I am really putting a lot of thought into it and I hope you'll all be interested in reading it!  I'll get my first blog up for it in the next couple of days here!

I have never written a serious/debate blog on this site before, but that's changing right now.

So today, news broke that Microsoft has confirmed that an online check-in will be required every day for Xbox One users to play games, as well as numerous limitations on used games, which includes game rentals and loaning/borrowing games from friends.

I don't even know where to start with all of this.

Seriously, what is going on here?  Who came up with this?  Why in God's name would I EVER want a game console that requires online check-ins to play my games?  Are you kidding me?  What if my internet goes out for a couple of days?  What if I'm playing someplace that doesn't have internet?  What about all the men and women in the military that play their games in areas without internet?  What will happen when the Xbox One is eventually retired and its servers are shut down? Does it just become a door stopper at that point?  

There is just so much not right about this.

When I buy a game system and games for it, they are MINE.  I should get to play them when I want, where I want, and how I want.  I don't buy games to "rent" them by having to connect online to be allowed to play them.  That's exactly what the Xbox One is: a game system that you are renting.  It essentially doesn't even belong to you.  Imagine if the N64 or PSOne required you to connect online to play games.  Those servers would have been shut down for a few years now and you wouldn't be able to play games for those systems anymore.  Seriously, could you even imagine that?  Imagine if you bought an Xbox One, then 10-15 years from now you simply couldn't even play it anymore.  What an absolute joke.

And don't even get me started on the used games policy.  For starters, Microsoft is giving third party publishers complete control over whether or not they can have their games re-sold or charge fees for used game use.  Third party publishers will also be able to decide whether or not you can even share your games with friends!  As far as giving games to friends, there are two requirements: You can only give them to friends on your Xbox friends list, and you can only give a game once.  Unbelievably ridiculous.

I simply cannot support any of this.  This is killing gaming as we know it.  When I buy a system and games, they are mine to do with what I please.  Microsoft is attempting to gain control over their consumers, and it's slimy, vile, and awful.   I will never support a game system that does any of this, which is why I'm hoping that this system absolutely bombs and this stuff never becomes a standard in the gaming industry.

Please, share with me your thoughts on all of this.  Let's get a discussion going.

So Injustice: Gods Among Us is a game I am certainly interested in purchasing.  However, I have a bit of a dilemma: I don't know if I should get it for PS3 or Wii U!  The PS3 version will likely have a bigger online community and trophies, but the Wii U version allows you to play the game entirely on the GamePad, which is awesome.  Which version do I buy??  Gah!

Anyone have it yet?  And if so, which system?

But I've still been here, checking out reviews and news every day.  I've just been very busy lately.  But I've still found time to get some gaming in!  The last month my two main games have been BioShock Infinite and Fire Emblem: Awakening.  I can safely say these are two of the best games I've played in quite some time.

BioShock Infinite is just phenomenal.  The best console game I've played since Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, and honestly, one of the best games I've played in the past five years even.  The story is extraordinary and the gameplay is frantic and fun.  And the ending, oh man the ending, was incredible and unexpected.  I really can't go too in depth about this game since I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who has yet to play it!  BioShock Infinite is definitely one of those rare games that will stick with me long after I've played it, and I'm certainly planning on playing this sucker multiple times.  Going to be one of those timeless games that I never get sick of playing.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is of course the latest game in one of my favorite series.  After the somewhat disappointing Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (which I still liked, but certainly my least favorite in the series) Fire Emblem: Awakening just blew me out of the water.  The gameplay enhances an already proven formula with awesome additions like pairing up your units to fight together and additional maps and challenges by use of DLC.  The story is fantastic, maybe the best in the series, and the characters are as lovable as ever.  I nearly made it through the game without losing a character (which I've never been able to accomplish in a FE game), but I lost one on the second to last level!  Anyway, great game, as expected of the FE series.  Definitely looking forward to experiencing the DLC now that I've completed the main campaign.

My plan is to catch up on some games I've missed starting in the summer.  Going to try to pick up Tomb Raider, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and The Last of Us (when it comes out in June) all in the next couple of months.

It's awesome.

Got my Wii U late this morning and so far it's even better than I imagined. First of all, the GamePad is just fantastic. It's lighter than I expected, more comfortable than I expected, and the screen looks great. The system itself is bigger and heavier than I expected as well. Great, quality build for the system itself.

Onto the games quick. So far I have only played Nintendo Land, and it's a great pack-in game. There is a lot of depth, surprising difficulty, a TON of unlockable treasures and in-game achievements, and it's just a blast. It really shows off what the system can do.

The other game I got was New Super Mario Bros. U, but I haven't played it yet. Saving it for Thanksgiving break so my brothers and I can play the whole game together over the holiday.

In my brief experience with the Wii U, I can so far say it has lived up to the hype. I look forward to enjoying this system more!!!

As of this blog typing, there are just a few hours to go until the release of Nintendo's new console, the Wii U. I've got mine pre-ordered and can't wait to pick it up in the morning.

Has it seriously already been six years since the launch of the Wii? I still remember sitting in the layaway section of Wal-Mart for 9 1/2 hours the night before the midnight release like it was just yesterday. I remember getting my Wii that night with my new copy of Twilight Princess and just absolutely flipping out. Just unreal that it's been six years already!

The Wii, while not Nintendo's best system, was a great console that featured some true classics. The Mario Galaxy games, Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland, SSBB, and so many more. I spent dozens upon dozens of hours playing my Wii games over the last six years, and I truly have some great memories with them.

And already, here we are just a few shorts hours from the Wii's successor. Amazing how time flies, but exciting that the next great Nintendo console is upon us.

Thank you for your six years of great games and memories, Wii. I'm sure I will still be playing you and your great games for years to come. I look forward to the Wii U, and may Nintendo continue to bring us all fantastic entertainment!

So as of this writing we are less than three weeks away from the launch of Nintendo's next console, the Wii U. You as excited as I am? You better be.

For these last few weeks before the Wii U comes out, I'm revisting many of my Wii games, like Super Mario Galaxy, GoldenEye 007, and Xenoblade Chronicles, as well as some others. I figure I need to spend some quality time with the ol' Wii before it gets replaced.

So how many of you are getting a Wii U on launch day? Or am I the only one? What games are you going to get with it? I currently have the Wii U Deluxe Set pre-ordered with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. U.
