They should have stuck with the PSP GO style design that got the portability aspect right. The NGP is being reported as being bigger than the PSP, which is a big no no in my book. One of the reasons the PSP wasn't really used on the go (by me) was the portability aspect.
The mass market are likely to eat up the 3DS like they did the DS, the NGP will enjoy decent success, but depending on the price may or may not surpass the PSP sales wise. If it is $400 i think it will struggle to sell outside of japan.

Eh, if they had stuck with the Go's style, it would have made the touch screen harder to use for gameplay purposes. Also, the DS's touch screen works great as a second analog... you just need to rest it on your lap, lose access to the R button and hope you don't get cramp. 2 Analogs > DS touch screen... and yes, ive played Metroid Prime Hunters

PSP2 selling point is better graphics, more control options and exclusive games, when compared to 3ds :/ Dont see how these not being 'innovative' negate them from being selling points...

OH! so the selling point is 3d, that can be turned off if the "smart" owner chooses to save battery. That is completely different then a NGP "smart" owner not paying 3G to save money.
Playing COD online on the go, using raw power, using 3G etc. will drain your battery life quickly compared to just 3D which can be turned off You can hook it up to a power outlet if your smart :)
