What you people are forgetting is all gears has shown is basically the tutorial lvl, thats hardly enough too bash the games style on.

going by that type of thinking, I would of condemned gears before even trying it, and roughly 70% of that game was dark grays and blacks.

Gears of war, more like rails of war, honestly that game reminded me of a gorrier version of virtual cop with manual movement and shoddy level design.

You know how gears hid most of its uglyness? through its use of coloring and dark shadows everywhere, when you use 1 color palette basically you don't have much too worry about.
