So, I'm now 25 and I can't believe it. I was 16 (almost 17) when I joined this place.
In other news, I like the new leveling system and the ways they added to level up. It needed some changing. Still though, I wish going through Levels 63 and 64 would be a bit less time consuming.

8 years and glitches on GS
by TAMKFan on Comments
So, now I have registered here 8 years ago. Hard to believe that in just 2 years, it'll be 10 years since I joined. Even with all the problems GS has been having lately, I don't plan to leave the site anytime soon.
Speaking of the problems that GS has been having, I really wish they could fix those levels. It's especially unpleasant for those on a level like Level 63, such as myself. They should give us a level boost when it's fixed to make up for it, at least. Oh and the new comment system still hasn't been fixed either. Comments on older blogs still aren't showing, for example.
I have also changed my avatar for the first time in years recently (my old one still shows up in blog comments, by the way). It's Lili from the Tekken series.
My decrease in blog activity
by TAMKFan on Comments
It's been over 2 months since my last blog. I also don't comment on other blogs as much now. Among the reasons is the new comment system. I'm not a fan of it and ever since it got implemented, I just haven't found commenting on blogs to be quite the same. The old one was fine, other than people abusing the thumbs down. This one needs improvement, but I would still rather go back to the old one altogether, but I can't see that happening. Not to mention, comments on older blogs still aren't showing and it's been a few weeks now. Also, you don't even get PM notifications when someone replies to you now.
So, what do you think of the new comment system?
In other news, I have finally reached 30% on Level 63 after being on it for over 2 months from when I posted my last blog.
20000 Posts
by TAMKFan on Comments
So, I have finally reached 20000 posts after my 7+ years on this site. I reached 10000 posts back in 2008. Had I posted more in certain years, I'm sure I would be well over 30000 by now.
Level 61 and new ToU again
by TAMKFan on Comments
So, I'm on Level 61 now, which means I'm only two levels away from the infamous Level 63.
Things just haven't been same around here since the ToU change. More and more people are leaving the site over it. I knew the community would go downhill. Sure, you can (unnofficially) block people, but that doesn't hide the fact that the community has gone downhill and things like this would just block out discussions, because just because someone flames or trolls, doesn't mean they always do. I think the site should return to it's 2004/2005 ToU, where flaming, trolling and censor bypass still weren't allowed, but the current sexual content policies were actually allowed back then. And I think moderators were generally less strict then than the past few years prior to the new ToU. Things should be better then. What do you guys think?
New Terms of Use rant
by TAMKFan on Comments
It's not often that I do a rant blog, but I feel that I have to get this one out.
Recently GameSpot has made changes to their Terms of Use and it's currently on Phase 2. I thought we would be in Phase 3 by now, but whatever. But anyway, with these changes, I could see the community becoming a lot worse. In fact, I've already heard that the OT forum is worse. I only post there sometimes, so I wouldn't know too much. But really? Removing flaming and trolling from the ToU? What was the reason for that? Those are two rules that should apply to every forum out there and to remove them is unreasonable. To remove those is a terrible idea and might be the worst idea GS has ever made. I can understand being more lenient with some things, but they went way too far here. They didn't need to remove those rules. I am surprised by how much support I've seen over this, even though I've seen some backlash too. I also don't like how people can bypass the censor completely now. I don't want to see the F word and stuff thrown all over the place and I'm sure others don't. I never been fond of swearing in the first place.
One change I do like is that they are less strict when it comes to posting pictures of skimpy girls, but I'm a bit biased in that department, because I'm a fan of girls in skimpy clothing. That's honestly probably the only change I like.I do know that some people don't like it though, because I've seen complaints about that change too. So, anyone else share my feelings here?

Can't believe it's 2012 now. I hope this will be a better year overall than 2011 was. Happy New Year.
