In Nintendo's case, a standard HDD, more user-friendly online features and better graphics, at least up to current gen standards (360/PS3) or slightly better. I also think a push for more hardcore games early on would help.
In Microsoft's case, more reliable hardware, fewer SKUs and full retail games through digital distribution like Steam... although the HDD would have to be massive.
In Sony's case, pretty much the same as Microsoft... but swap RROD problems with faster disc speeds and a smaller jump in graphics. Follow the PS2 formula and Sony will win next-gen.

Killing with fire is nothing new, but now it looks good. We've gone from characters turning black in a cartoony way to burning skin in the next COD game.
In the case of Zelda, voice acting should be limited to NPCs... Link has always been a silent protagonist and to give him a voice would be a bit awkward.
In Samus' case, she's not as silent... she does have a voice, but she's been limited to grunts and yells. I'm hoping Samus starts to talk more often.
As for Kirby, why? High-pitched and annoying... just forget it, it won't happen.
Then again, did we ever think Mario would ever talk? There is a precedent set so anything can happen.
