Except that technically, for the VAST majority of our time on earth, violence HAS been the answer.

As distasteful as it is, the only reason we are as awesome as we are now (quite possibly the only reason you or I or anyone even are ALIVE) is BECAUSE we've been killing each other for so freaking long.

Really, think about it. I'm not saying that we should act like that now, but violence has DEFINITELY worked for us in the past. It's a significant part of the reason why our species still exists.
