@LJS9502_basic: because Biden has a very evident and profound cognitive decline.

Honestly, this is part of the self deception I am talking about.

Are you kidding? Yes, Biden's been having some problems recently. Trump had those while he was in office and has only gotten worse.

They are not even in the same league... holy shit you leftist truly are delusional.

Yes mate, trump is far more dangerous - you go that right cocko!

Under the new fucked up conservative justices ruling, it would be above board!

@Stevo_the_gamer No, the law needs to apply to everyone.

All legal stuff is very confusing to me 😅.

But I think the idea that the law should apply equally to everyone is not as simple as it sounds.

If there is an elected office (like the president) it seems ok to me that there are some special laws, given that everyone in principal could get elected to that position. So in that sense the law does apply equally. If you become president, you would be given the same level of immunity. I mean doctors, teachers, police officers, military all have rights that others do not. And just as for the president the special laws apply when they act in within their profession.

The SC ruling does seem different since it grants fairly broad immunity for "official acts". But the President is supposed to be an extremely powerful position.

I dunno, like I said it's confusing 🤷‍♂️

In some cases, some special priviledges can be afforded if it is necessary for them to do their job. The governments job is to uphold the law. Being held unaccountable for both civil and criminal offenses (criminal being actions that harm society as a whole), runs exactly counter to what a leader is supposed to be.

We have so much precedent of what happens if governments are not held accountable to the law. The royalty comparisons are extremely apt.

Not to mention, there is a difference between criminal immunity and a few special privileges. Because of how the legal system works, Biden could get away with almost anything now.

Just assassinate Trump, it would fix so many problems and biden would have nothing to answer for.

Pretty boring, just spiders. Only thing (that I know of) I'm irrationally afraid of. Not many spiders around here that can do much to me but cause some discomfort. I just get creeped out by them.

There's things I'm afraid of but I feel that's all pretty rational. Drowning sounds unpleasant. I work with chemicals and steam as well, so I'm super paranoid around that. But I'm not fearful.

A new fear for me recently though is the existential dread of WTF is going on with my country (the USA) and where exactly we are going. I take an interest in politics but I've always felt like, even if the folks I don't like win, we'd be OK; I never obsessed over it. Can't really say that now; things are going bad and going bad fast.

I fear heights so much I literally become partially paralysed by it.

And yet, I can't help but go up a tall building every chance I get, just so I can look straight down. I find a certain rush in that fear.

I'm weird.

Not at all, I do the same.

I think it's fairly easy to get over your fears if you can ensure there are safeguards. For example, going to the top of a building but knowing there's a railing or window to protect you.

For me, if I see a spider at a distance, I'm actually OK with it. I might even try to make friends with it as part of a self-imposed exposure therapy of sorts.

If a spider get's the jump on me, like I see it crawling across my desk a foot away from me? Ohohoho man, I freak the hell out lol. You ever see a 6'3" man jump and scream like a girl? Get a spider to surprise me.

Mate, you might struggle down here in Aus...
