At first I felt the same way. I was like, "wtf, that's IT!?". You kill the strongest gods and that's it? Then I got to thinking about it and then kept thinking it was actually pretty decent. The whole game pretty much shows you how these gods were protecting the earth and most of it's inhabitants by doing what they did. Helios was the sun god, bringing light to earth. Without him the world lives in darkness. I believe hermes was the plague that was killing everyone after he died, so he kept them alive in that respect. Poseidon and Zeus help control overpopulation in the world by controlling the elements. They also aided in keeping people safe with different water levels and winds and such. All these gods had a purpose to maintain the balance of the world. Kratos absolutely destroyed this, sending the entire world into chaos, for his own vengeance. I believe in the end he killed himself mostly to give hope back to the world, but also because wtf was he going to do? He destroyed the entire planet basically and didn't trust his powers with Athena, a god. I can't really explain it, but it was still good, although I would have of course liked to see Kratos live on, even though death cannot hold him regardless. Also like others have said, this is supposed to be the end of the trilogy as we know it. I hear they're wanting to make more God of War games, just not for that specific trilogy. It would definitely be cool to see a story line go along with this one in whatever way that could be. Sort of intertwine them, but with different characters. I don't know who can be more bad*($@ than Kratos though.Ghost_702

Exactly, and I think they did a good job of trying to show the player as you played the game that Kratos was inadvertently destroying the world. there were times were I was almost troubled by what I was doing because really, the Gods of Olympus weren't evil, they were just loyal to Olympus and Zeus. they thought they were doing the right thing which was protecting humanity from the wrath of Kratos, and in reality they were. The only God that deserved to die was Zeus for being an a$$. And in the end, Kratos realized that all his vengeance got him was the end of the world.

While I agree that the ending sucked and was completely random, I don't think you understood the ending. When Kratos opened the box in GOW1, he unleashed the evils on the gods while he absorbed hope. He didn't know he had hope until the end of GOW3. When he killed each boss in GOW3, the evils that were in them were unleashed on humanity (plagues, fear, darkness blah, blah, blah,) so instead of handing hope to athena, he decided to kill himself and give hope to humanity instead. the end. Credits roll, then we see that kratos' body is missing, thus giving his fans "hope" that he might still be alive... anyways, my problem with the ending was simply the presentation, it was so lifeless and so random (i.e, the game didn't do a good job of working its way there).verbalfilth

this is literally the exact way that i felt about the ending. I thought that the idea and overall message the ending was trying to convey was good but the presentation was just lousy and really anti-climatic. also, I really hope that Kratos isn't alive because really, Kratos's story is done. He killed Zeus and got his revenge. There is nothing left for Kratos to do or any reason for him to continue fighting. So I'm kinda just hoping that that video at the end is just the result of someone dragging Kratos's body done to Hades.

I think imma let the game rest for a day or so, play something else (just in case that helps), and then if it still doesnt work, exchange it for a new copy at gamestop cause I really dont want to start over at this point

I've tried that nightshade and it didnt seem to work. in fact, the save actually started behaving like this after trying that. :/ do you think it could just be a bad copy of the game since your's seems to be working fine?

So I am really loving Heavy Rain, a lot, but the bugs in the game are finally taking their toll on me. At first (Possible Spoilers) I was having issues with the first level you play as Jayden. My car was invisible and it caused the game to freeze up and the audio to lag. I got through that. Then in the level where Ethan's son is kidnapped, I was having very staticky audio. Then in the level with Jayden where you meet Mad Jack, my car was once again invisible and the game was once again freeze, crashing and the audio was lagging. Now I was in the level called On The Loose. After Madison gets out of the hotel room, the audio began to lag and ultimately the game crashed. I tried once again and the same thing happened. Now, the save won't even load. It stays stuck on the loading screen of Ethan's face. I've left it on for like 15 minutes and nothing. I've tried replaying the level before hand and no luck either, it freezes once I get to the On the Loose level. I really hope someone can help me out here and tell me if there is anyway that I could fix this problem. If it means going back to gamestop and exchanging copies I'm more than willing to as I still have the reciept.

while dead space is scarier (or simply scary period since RE5 isnt scary) and has better controls, I found RE5 more fun to play. RE5 also hadmore replay value and coop is always fun. my vote would be to RE5, but not by much really
