It sounds like you got a BIOS beep code error. Try to figure out the exact code (example: 2 short beeps 1 long) and then google it, it will tell you where your problem lies.
FYI, you are only supposed to get one beep on bootup, this indicates successful POST.
You might want to take a look at Internet Connection Sharing.
Just remember, there was a reason why people called it "Winblows" ME. ;) Good luck
My PC can only handle cards that take up only one slot. So i was wondering if there were going to be any 9 series cards that will fit in my case by April. I currently have a 8600gts and It kind of sucks and i feel it is kind of a waste to get the 8800gt which is a step up but still not that big of a step up.Mastermatta
Uhmmmm.... the 8800gt will decimate the 8600gts.
[QUOTE="TUnified"][QUOTE="kriteman"]Hi,
I am going to get a new video card for my computer. I was looking around the $100-$160 range and i looked at the guide, but i dont know wich one to get. I was looking at the Radeon HD 2400 XT CrossFire or something around there. Also if i upgraded theses would be my specs and i was wondering if they would be good enough to play any of the newer games ( Halo 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas)
Windows Vista
958mb RAM
Radeon HD 2400 XT CrossFire Video card
AMD Turion 64 X2 proccesors TL-52 running at 1.6 GHz

What
[QUOTE="TUnified"]If you want to do gaming, don't buy video cards with model #s less than 600, i.e. the 2400xt would not be a good gaming card. Get at least a 2600xt or 8600gt.kriteman
would a Radeon HD 2400 XT CrossFire be good?
Wait... back up...
You have a 100-160$ budget... What "guide" told you to get a 2400xt?
http://www.gamespot.com/features/6173135/p-13.html the gamespot guide. If this is wrong can you please suggest me a card to get that is in this price range that would be able to run decent gamesPrices are outdate, it's old, lol Gamespot included the 8500gt and 2400xt CF as part of their "mainstream", lol.
If 160$ is your max budget, your best bet would be an 8600gts, or if you don't care about DX10, then pick up an x1950xt.
Or you can save ~20$ more and get an HD 3850, MUCH more bang for your buck.
And listen to Kiwi ;)
blu-ray drivers won't do you any good if you don't have a blu-ray device.
BTW, any dvd player software on the PC already upscales to whatever resolution you are running at.
Forgive me if I misunderstood what you were asking.
