I was eagerly anticipating both the new offering of Might and Magic and Neverwinter.  I have been a Might and Magic fan since the very first game on the IBM PC with those limited 200 color graphics model.  It was pretty good back then.  MM3 with Sheltom was amazing for the time.  Neverwinter has not been around that long but before that I was a huge Baulders Gate Fan and have been playing pencil and paper D & D since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  I wondered what I was going to do with two great games at the same time.  I won't have to worry about that.  Dark Messiah is not a MM game.  It is just a stupid 3d shooter with swords.  It cannot live up to Oblivion becuase it is entirely liner and that is the same reason it is not a true MM game.  It sucks.

Thankfully Neverwinter is everything I thought it would be.  Go Obsidian!

Clearly full of crap.  Sony is making a choking sound. That's just fantastic.

X06 has announced the new HD-DVD drive for the 360.  With Universal Studios standarizing on the format I think it is worth while.  At 200 bucks it's pretty expensive.  I will have to wait to see how good it is before I pick it up but it looks promising. 

As for the other news:  A host of Halo games and the Halo movie all sound great but I worry that one or all of the offerings will be weak and therefore weaken the franchise.  Oh well, at least their trying.  Compare Bungie to 3D Realms and you can see where I am going.  3D Realms refused to release an inferior product but in the process of persueing the noble goal they lost sight of the point.  It was all about fun.  A game with an 8 score is better than doing nothing.  If you wait too long your fan base leaves.  Bungie has this down.  Polish the game but commit to a timeframe and bust hump to get there.  Good luck to Bungie, MS and Peter Jackson.  Here's hoping this goes well for them.

I was just checking out the graphics on Wii and it seems to me that it looks more like a ps2 than a next gen console from the graphics prospecitve.  I don't know about everyone else but a fancy controller is not enough for me to shell out a pile of cash, they have to push the gaming envelope forward.  I am sticking with my 360.

And it is good.  Dead Rising is a fantastic game for those of you old enough to play. 

Slicing and dicing though the hordes of undead is very satisfying.  I recommend the Katana blade for extra fun :D

Not just because they are a company who is more concerned with profit than anything else but because they think they can do whatever they want. When I found out that Sony Root Kited computers with its DRM crap I was significantly upset.

See I still buy CDS so when they started root kiting honest customers naturally I was not happy. I am a computer programmer and technician by trade so I can tell you that this kind of thing is a serious violation and is totally and completely unacceptable.

So am I interested in my Playstation 2 stuff? Nope. I sold it. Will I buy Playstation 3? Nope.

Say what you want about Microsoft but the xbox 360 is a great platform with tons of potential. They also wrote the windows operating system and never root kited a thing even though they know every back door in the system because they wrote it. Do what you will but I am done with Sony.

Thats right I got one.  I managed to get a hold of a piece of the launch title hardware for the xbox 360.   The system never crashed during a game.  It never had any problems really, until two days ago. 

My son was ejecting a game and got an error 74.  I turned it off and that seemed to help.  Then, later he got it again (again when ejecting a game).  Finally I got it again last night and not a damn thing could bring it back.  I called XBOX "support" and they said that "Blinking red lights mean hardware problems"  They insist we send it back.  BOOOOOOOOOO!  They did not troubleshoot at all.  They honestly seem more like a shipping center than a troubleshooting facility.  I am frustrated.  I happen to be a Microsoft fan but this sucks!  500 bucks and nothing to show for it.

Update, I got my new XBOX 360 back.  After they got me the shipping container it only took 3 days  to get it back.  The current XBOX 360 is flawless, no issues at all.
