No, for me it takes the challenge out of the game. Like in Splinter Cell when something goes wrong you load the game. There is absolutely no punishment for mistakes. It is just trial and error. You don't have to think about your actions because you can reload your save game. But with checkpoints you must think before you act there is no cheap quick save and quick reload.i-like-pie
I agree 100 %. With exceptions of course. I believe that you should be able to save ANYWHERE but if you die upon reloading the game you go back to your checkpoint or "main save point" so to speak. This means, you can save if you have to leave or dont feel like playing anymore, but if you die upon continuation, then the load point should be a checkpoint. Video games are getting more and more biased towards cry babies, though. Example, Madden 09. The rewind? WTF? That is the most ridiculous thing ever created. They should have revamped the computers superb ability to intercept the ball and break physically impossible tackles than just implementing a rewind system that can erase the mistake. Multiple save slots are also silly. Especially now that there are Gamertags and profile names. Save to your unique profile and thats that. Therefore you cant save the same game on two lines just to reload continuously the one with different outcomes.
