800+ Companies.

Also a very insightful infographic.

Not only is your 4th amendment in jeopardy, it is possible your 1st amendment is also in jeopardy (pertaining to how the bill is worded in some areas.)

https://action.eff.org/o/9042/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8444 [QUOTE="Electronic Frontier Foundation"]Congress is considering legislation that would give companies a free pass to monitor and collect communications, including huge amounts of personal data like your text messages and emails, and share that data with the government and anyone else. All a company has to do is claim its privacy violations were for "cybersecurity purposes." Tell Congress that they can't use vaguely-defined "cybersecurity threats" as a shortcut to bypassing the law. . . .

What does this Bill do?! biggest_loser
Quick and Simple: "Cybersecurity" but the term is so broad that many things could be considered cybersecurity. Private companies can share info with other companies without any liability as long as it is under "cybersecurity." Private companies can also share this information with the government(which I don't have as much as a problem with.)

To make a comparison, the supporters of the SOPA/PIPA bill was minuscule compared to the supportors for CISPA. The gamers may have overthrown the ESA, but it was very tiny compared to these other associations.

ohhh it might ;) Considering how broad the supporters are. If Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, Apple (yes, apple is part of one of the trade organizations) and many others are in the boat, what makes you think it won't pass?

The Business Rountable has a HUGE member base and BSA has many of your huge tech companies in it.

Yes, I keep hearing people say that it won't pass. And I think, the odds are against us currently. There is just not enough attention at the moment and MSM haven't even caught on to it. We have until ~ April 18-19ish until Congress's recess is up and they start deciding whether to keep the bill as is or not.

What is even worse? A chunk of those supporting this bill are the tech firms and tech trade-associations that was blatantly opposed to SOPA/PIPA.

The EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) has recently asked people to send a message to your Representatives telling them to not support the bill.

https://action.eff.org/o/9042/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8444

So we need to get on it so that MSM can hear, because what is just as bad as SOPA/PIPA is to see our private information go willy-nilly between private companies and private companies between the government. If the tech companies aren't there to help, we'll need to do it ouyrselves.

For those that don't live in the U.S.? This online petition may help.

I don't care too much that it has gone towards the 360. It made me a bit iffy but it is understandable when a lot of the players in the U.S. are both 360 and PS3 players. (not saying there isn't a lot of Wii players either... but when it comes to graphics...)
