as soon as the game starts, open the task manager, find the process, and right-click and go to "set affinity". uncheck all but core 0 and the game should run maybe perhaps possibly.

that's how you do it on xp anyways, i don't know if vista uses the same commands.

ohhh. out of those 3, i'd reccomend system shock 2 (which i'm pretty sure you can get for free now legally). why not get all of them, though? i imagine half life 1, at least, would be insanely cheap ($15 for hl1, op4, and blueshift along with team fortress classic).
