Played both. The first one was cool... but I could never get into it, for some reason or another.

SS2, though... that game's near the top of my list for my favorite games ever (x-com and Fallout will never be dethroned! :P) The atmosphere, the customization, the emotions generated by the enemies (anyone else got a chill when a zombie - who you know was once someone you knew is running at you, trying to maul you while screaming in agony "kill me!"?)... the robot doing the macarena, everything. It was not a perfect game, of course... but it was gorram close.

I am sad to admit that I never got around to picking up a copy of x-com and playing it. Any chance that it is abandonware?

No SP and only a handful of maps

Some balancing issues (360 owners will win round after round)

Nothing past average is what i say. 

BTW, Gundam sold well and got good reviews in your country, 8 8 8 8 from Famitsu...
