This discussion's been done and done again, and it's pretty obvious that any console will have a better price/benefit ratio than a PC. They're geared strictly towards gaming, and usually cost around half or less than what a PC costs. The PC is a much more multi-efficient platform, but if you're ONLY going to game, it doesn't justify its price compared to a PS3 or a 360.

The best visuals boils down to the game that looks best. The PS3 has Uncharted 2 and Killzone 3, both of which look better than any X360 game. I'd tell you to wait for Gears of War 3 to come, but so far, the PS3.

I recommend the Kindle -- I've never had issues with mine, its battery lasts a month, and its very comfortable to use. I know the iPad isn't an e-reader and that some people use it to read, but I'm going to recommend this now: do NOT get the iPad if you want to use it as a reading tool. It's heavy, the backlight tires your eyes in dark environments and you absolutely can't use it if you're exposed to light.

[QUOTE="ag1052"]

Hey guys, so several years into this gen and I have only had the wii. I just got some extra money and I thought I would pick up a PS3. I know several of you guys are wii/ps3 owners. I was thinking of getting the 160 gb version that comes with Killzone 3

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Haziqonfire

Seems like a good deal. Now that I have a 360 I'd definitely change my mind if I could and pick up a PS3 -- Also if you want to upgrade your HDD you could always just replace it with a 500gb or more later on. I played the Killzone 3 demo at a friends, it's a lot tighter than Killzone 2 was, plays great.

--

I just replaced Link's Crossbow Training and Wii Sports cardboard boxes for DVD/Wii like cases. I managed to get a White DVD case once and I have a normal black case for Link's Crossbow Trianing. The end result looks pretty good to me, what do you guys think?

Very nice! I might give myself the trouble to do that too, eventually. Also, great game collection: I can't find the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the sake of it, and that makes my heart ache. I don't know if those are all your games, but you should definitely check out MadWorld and Okami if you don't have them yet.

@ag1052

Great! The PS3 is an awesome console, and the games that are coming with it this year are great. 160 GB is a good HD space, which you'll need for a few mandatory installs.

Their validity is ridiculous if you just leave them sitting, without use. Obviously, they'll wear out if you use them...

Tires will deteriorate without use, just like any other petrolium product. That doesn't mean that they will deteriorate at a rate equal to to that of tires regularly used, but they will deteriorate.

As I said, that would take too long. Vulcanized rubber has no organic material, and isn't naturally decomposed -- therefor, a tire takes several thousands of years to deteriorate, if not exposed to mechanical stress. TC said his tires have a few years of no usage -- certainly not enough to deteriorate the tire at any considerably amount.

[QUOTE="Seajack"]Hunting isn't a sport, though most people I hunt with don't get that. Whether you enjoy it or not, there's no competition in it. It'd be a competition if the animal had a rifle as well, so let's get that straight. Hunting can be fun, but rules still apply. I love hunting, I call it fun. Nothing like spending some time outside and feeling that rush. It's obvious that you shouldn't "waste" the animal. That's going on a broken record here. You softies make me chuckle. Man up. I won't explain to you why it's good, because you damn well know. Hunting happens in nature too, believe it or not. EDIT: I read some more posts and this has to be said. No matter what stupid stereotype you have about hunting and hunters, 99% of people who hunt are normal folk who use everything to the bone and have the same feelings as you about people who do waste. The only difference is they actually know hunters, and know that trophy hunting and leaving the meat is extremely uncommon. thegerg

I'm a softie because I've no interest in shooting an animal dead? The things people say...

I'm a big fan of sports. I practiced tennis for nine years, have played and accompanied football since a child and like to watch a match of anything, from Basketball to Rugby, but the thought of tracking down and killing an animal does not appeal to me -- not unless I truly require it to survive.

Is it more acceptable to pay another to kill an animal that you don't truely need to survive? Nearly all westerners eat more meat than is truely necessary to survive, whether the kill it themselves or they buy it from a shop or restaurant.

I don't know if it's more acceptable, but it's certainly more convenient to just buy a few pounds of meat at the market instead of heading down to the woods every time I want a piece of steak.

I'd give preference to your mechanic instead of someone on the internet. Also, iirc, tires don't deteriorate naturally -- being petroleum derivates, that would take too long.
