I currently have a 360 "Go Pro" with the HDMI output andI am using the packed-in component cables, but I am considering upgrading to HDMI. I was wondering if anyone has made this switch and if the difference between the two was significant enough to warrant the extra cost. For reference, my 360 is connected to a Panasonic 42" 1080p Plasma (very nice TV!). Any thoughts?

I agree that the 360 is probably reaching its peak and the PS3 has yet to begin the climb. I do not own either system yet, but I am in the process of deciding which to buy (for now I amgreatly enjoying my DS). In the end, I do think that I will go with the PS3 due to: 1) the PS3 has way better technology; 2) the PS3 hardware does not fail continually like the 360; and 3) once developer get full grasp of the PS3 power the games will rock. I think that my last criteria is important. I am tired of people comparing 360 games to PS3 games at this point. Look, Halo 3 represents the first of the 360's third generation of games (and it cannot even run in HD. 640p?), while the PS3 has yet to see its second gen games come to market. Try comparing first gen 360 games to first gen PS3 games (what a difference!).

Sometime today. Just be patient. :)

Trying to be patient...but as time moves by it seems less likely that the review will be posted today as was originally promised in the review blog. :(

I am very excited! But where's the review? Why is the review tab on the game profile page unavailable? Hopefully, that means that the review is coming soon. It irrates me to no end that other sites/mags have had their reviews up for awhile and GS spot has still not posted their review.

I believe that the core 360 is $279, but I agree with Radiozothat you should wait and purchase one equipped with a HDD b/c Halo 3 really needs it and other games in the future (GTA IV) will probably require it as well.

The difference between 720p and 1080i is a personal preference in most cases. Technically, 720p will offer a smoother pictures when you have fast moving images, due to the progressive scan. On the other hand, 1080i will offer more detail in the picture due to the higher lines of resolution. However, the best picture is usually when you match the source resolution to the TV native resolution. Since you have 720p TVs, I would recommend that yousend to it a720p image.

It sounds like both of your TV's have a native resolution of 1280x720 or something close to that. Since the bottom number is lower than 1080, a 1080 source (p or i) will be scaled to fit the number of pixels on your TV. The loss in detail will be barely noticeable (unless you sit very close to the screen), but you can not fully display 1080i or 1080p without a set with a native resolution of 1920x1080. So, to answer question 1: Yes, you can display 1080i on these TVs (i.e., with the scaling I described above). Most sets like this are labeled as 720p/1080i. Question 2: I would use the samsung since it is larger and has the convenient HDMI hook-ups. Hope that helps.

we will have a better idea if GS does indeed have a bias towards the 360when some of the big time cross platform games such as Assassin's Creed and GTA IV launch.
