I'm in an upstart band and we are in the naming phase. The band is going for a experimental, alt-rock feel with many keyboard, piano, and possibly violin elements with a dark spacey feel to it with many lighter elements in between. We are basically gonna be all over the place, except for in the screamo/metal territory. So which of these names sounds best?

Sorry for giving this thread a bumpski, but I was just wondering how long Planescape Torrent is, and which game should I get first; Grim Fandango, Planescape: Torment, FFVII? You guys really made me want Planescape. For this many people to say it has a better story than SH2, a game story that has blown my mind every day since the day I beat it, it makes me NEED to play anything with a chance of being better.
I pretty much hate long ass cutscenes...a lot, but still I really liked the characters and story in Metal Gear Solid 3. Especially the Boss.AAllxxjjnn
YOU my friend, just about won the internet in my eyes. Not only do you have a great taste in games with Metal Gear Solid 3 as your pick, my personal favorite MGS game, but you have a SIGUR ROS as your pic. That, is just unsurpassable as far as I'm concerned. I salute you.

I can't even believe I forgot Braid. Wow, I just facepalmed a hole in my forehead. It was definitely, at least for me, hands down the best game I've played on the 360, only matched by Orange Box (not sure if that counts) and Bioshock. Wow, can't believe I forgot Braid :( Great picks.
I was extremely happy with all the answers I heard (yes even the Halo ones :( , and I'm happy to say I'm getting some Planescape right now. I've seen the game many times, but I have to admit the cover made me think it was some cheesy hack and slash devoid of any depth, but it looks like I was dead wrong. I also am getting Grim Fandango, since I neglected it for way too long. Great suggestions.
What is the best story in video gaming? I'm a gamer that bases my enjoyment of a game for the most part on the quality of its story, so I am interested in what others see as the best story in gaming history. This may not be the choice you want to hear, but without a doubt my favorite story from most likely any medium is that of Silent Hill 2. I know many will disagree, but I also know many will agree. Some other choices I consider runner-ups are the the Metal Gear series,Half-Life series, Majora's Mask, any Shin Megami Tensei game, Chrono Trigger, Shadow of the Colossus, Paper Mario, and Final Fantasy X. Feel free to add your choices... now. Oh, and please don't say Halo 3 :)
