@Iamkalell: And in this he doesn't go from corner to corner because of the sea, so yeah, it is the same size but without mountains blocking everything.
@cannedstingray: This is the thing everybody is forgetting. It takes an age just to read all the lore related content and cool little short stories they throw in. In this game too they seem to have put way more into the interior spaces and the scrapers seem quite expansive in the vertical space you can explore.
@usmcscout0311: This is it, most of Fallout 3 was devoid of anything. This is packed with stuff. I like all their RPGs--with slight bias towards Elder Scrolls--but this is one of the things that makes me rank Fallout 3 as the least good of them. I know FO3 was post apocalyptic, but it was too dead for its own good. The only major settlements for instance were two towns not much bigger than Whiterun and Falkreath.
@KidsNDad: It is only a rumor though. The thing is, I have a ridiculously good sense of direction--one of my few skills--and I live in Manchester. The time it takes for him to cross the distance you see traveled--roughly the equivilant distance from the center of the Northern Quarter/edge of Ardwick down to say, Blackfriers, and baring in mind that he sprints for a good portion of the time--I'd make an informed guess that the map is the size of Manchester city center--maybe shaving off half of the university--and that's plenty big enough for me! :D
