Wow, at the responses. I've just graduated a few weeks ago and already miss it. I loved my high school. Great teachers, great gym (well okay maybe that's exaggerating :P), great classes (I do not kid), and great friends.

Yeah, I think we're the minority here. :P I also graduated this year, and I actually loved High School. In fact, I did not want this year to end. I met some amazing people. I made some amazing friends, and I got along well with all my teachers. I missed school after about the first week because I really had nothing to do, but then I realized all the things I could do now on my free-time such as go to the beach, meet women, work-out, jog, hang out with buddies, ect, so I'm kind of fine now. I'm really eager to get things rolling and start my life.

[QUOTE="Hemmaroids"][QUOTE="MattUD1"] The kid is an AP class and AP exams were last month. This was probably just for something to do for however long the class lasts. Seriously, doesn't anyone read threads anymore?MattUD1
Still don't change the fact that my tax dollars were, once again, wasted.

There is nothing else to do in the class. Would you be complaining about wasted tax dollars if the teacher just told the kids to sit there twiddling their thumbs?

Based on my experience with High School history, I bet he barely scratched the surface on whatever historical topics he covered; therefore, I'm sure he could have covered some topics again with even greater depth, or even cover something entirely new. More importantly, he could have had class debates and discussions on certain issues, current or past events.

I'm interested in all historical periods, but I tend to favor particular ones such as the Renaissance, the Rise and Fall of Rome, the Crusades, the Caliphate, and WW1.

I recommend the Count of Monte Cristo Unabridged and the Three Musketeers.

To be quite honest, there are only about four or five people I would call "smart" or even remotely intelligent on this board. ;)

Well, I will add that I think most people here demonstrate a clear lack of maturity, especially in topics of a serious nature. Most arguments lack logic and good reasoning, and some arguments consists of the poster simply trying to be humorous when he isn't. Most users are highly disrespectful here as well. The only reason I come to this board is to laugh at the lack of intelligence demonstrated by most of its users. There are only two forums that I visit which are conducive towards any kind of serious, intellectual discussion, and I wont name those.

[QUOTE="AirGuitarist87"] Because you can't tax a prostitute. =3 Though I haven't really gone into the nitty gritty of the countries where prostitutes are legal. Although my cousin was chased through Amsterdam by a bouncer for taking pictures of one of those girls in the window.AirGuitarist87

You can't tax a CD made by an indie group either.

Which begs the question of who would make more - a hooker or an indie group?

It depends upon the success of each. In any case, there are many things the government is unable to tax, which are allowed to be sold.

[QUOTE="Oonga"]

Heres the REAL question and what i dont get.

How is prostitution illegal yet one can be a porn star? (which is legal)

This just doesnt make any sense to me. Do you need some sort of liscence to become a porn star? i really doubt that.

I'm usually at the beach. I work at a concession stand there too.

I don't value money as much as most people do. The only things I ever buy are books, CDs, clothes, and the necessary things such as food. I prefer to live a very simple, unadorned life as much as I can.
