This idea sucks big time.
If your going to lock out part of a game from me just because I bought it for $90 used instead of that oh so generous $110 (Australian) you can shove it up your WOAH! I don't know who sets the prices, but they should be forced to set prices according to the product. You want to increase more game sales, do something that doesn't hurt the consumer but rewards them. You're wanna sell a crap load of horse armour dlc and 3 map packs a month? Give a code to the people who bought the game new to get the first 3, or if you aren't are a saint, all that dlc free.
Also, that $110 is what EB Games (Our Gamestop) sells new games at. Sometimes Kmart or Target give us a speacial deal of $80. For two days. Then back to $100. Yay. Make your games worth that money. I know there are some gems out there that are sadly overlooked, but do devs really expect to sell Bionic Commando for that much? Come on, you know it won't sell because its short, there's nothing to keep you going back and it sucks. Drop the price down sooner if you want to sell it.
ALSO! Raise more awareness for your extreme sadness to the average consumer. Even if you put a giant sticker on the front saying, "Please support the game buy buying new, you get....". No one I know knows that it's affecting you. When you do stuff like this, expect them to start thinking you're greedy once that message pops up asking for a code when they hit the multiplayer button. Waaaaaaaaaaaaateva.
