[QUOTE="-Renegade"]According to reports, Sony believes that the PS3 is on pace to beat the Microsoft Xbox 360 in the next-gen console war.
Sony has been out and about touting their latest sales figures for their hardware.
CEO Sir Howard Stringer has come out and stated "PS3 has now gone past Xbox on the Christmas market."
He stated that in December Sony sold 797,600 PS3 consoles in the U.S., this was a 331,600 jump from November.
Stringer stated that the "PS3 is out of the woods and beginning to hold its own."
This comes amidst rumors that Sony is getting ready to drop the 80GB PS3 console in favor of releasing a new 120GB or 160GB model.

What an idiot, 360 in December sold 1.2 million, so it had a MORE HUGE jump than PS3 from its previous month !!!!
I think he's reffering to world wide PS3 sales trouncing 360 and was just stating that PS3 did quite well for 360 land. There's no suprises in 360 selling 1.2 mil in the US.
