Just ordered a XFX Radeon HD 5770 from http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductID=1161253&source=froogle. Should be with me in a couple of days. Just set up my PSU. Will hopefully let you all know once I've got the graphics card up and running in a few days. Thanks for all your help folks.

Hi guys and thanks for all your advice once again. I've found an XFX brand 5770 that comes with a lifetime warranty for 110 pounds. Bit over budget but is it worth it? I don't mind paying that little bit extra if it's going to let me play games for at least 3 years or so before it becomes useless.. I found an XFX 4870 for 80 pounds also and I've heard the cards are pretty similar? Is XFX the best brand for the graphics cards? Also is my 450w Corsair PSU good or would I need to buy another brand of PSU? I'm almost set on either the XFX HD 4870 or the XFX HD 5770 but I am only willing to spend more than my budget for the 5770 if it is really really worth it. Is it?

Hi there. Thanks again for replying. I have a 350w PSU at the moment but I've got a 450w PSU that I will fit in once I've bought a decent card. My budget is about 90 pounds. I've been looking at a XFX Radeon HD 4850 for a while now since I've seen it for a bargain but again I'm really uncertain whether it will be compatible or not with my motherboard. That's the only thing that's bugging me.

Hey thanks for the help. So I guess that rules out the cards I mentioned then. Well, any idea of what alternatives there are that are better than the 7600gt but a PCI x16 card?

Hi there. I'm a total noob when it comes to tech and stuff but I've recently got into PC gaming and am looking to upgrade my PC. I have a 7600gt graphics card at the moment and its served me well but it's been toasted so I'm using the onboard graphics at the moment to get me by. Looked into 9800 gtx and 8800 gtx. Not sure whether they'll work on my motherboard Asus P5VD2 MX-SE because I checked the Asus website forums and there are many complaints about them not being compatible. I was just wondering if someone can help me or guide me in the right direction or give me some alternatives. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
