You have to quit the game and select your trophy collection to sync it with your PSN profile. :)

You don't have to quit to sync your trophies, just compare them with someone on your firends list through the ingame XMB and it syncs them.

Why bother? is aggrovating PS3 fans really that high up on your to do list? becuase if it is I pity you.
