I was aiming for just 79 points for the last, but I forgot that I had to take two passes at the show cast.

Just when I thought I had this thing sussed... 200 accepted on 2 March was worth 1%... 200 accepted on 6 March was worth 1%... 200 accepted on 8 March is worth... nothing. There is no mistake on my part, and missribs says that the levels are working properly. So that's all right, then(!) At least I know why they want to keep the precise nature of the relationship between activity and reward a secret!

I have this thing sussed now... I held off from submitting until the weekend, when I worked up a whole lot, although domestic circumstances meant that I did rather fewer than the 400 planned. In the event, TV.com staff approved rather fewer than 200 of these on Monday - for some reason they knocked off an hour-and-a-half early, so I attended to some of the changes required to shows I actually edit, to ensure that I got 200 submissions approved in a 24-hour period. I achieved this, and got my one percent, together with editorship of four more shows: The Adventurer, The Four Just Men, O.S.S. and Paul Temple. Now I have 96 of my own submissions for those shows to approve... Taken together with the handful of subs I have in the Queue of Doom, these won't make 200, so I think I shall wait until a day that I am able to secure 104 additional contributions, and so earn a second percentage point in a week. And that, my friends, is gaming the system!

  A busy day, topping up the pendings that were finally cleared   yesterday, saw another one per cent rise, with three new   editorships - Colonel March of Scotland Yard, International   Detective and Jemima Shore Investigates, with several others   ripe for acquisition - I chose to concentrate on crew   submissions to hold off the day of editorship, and allow me   to play the submissions game.

  Another disappointing Monday, in which the only submissions I   had approved were those for Police Surgeon, because I had   mentioned the show in the submissions thread, and, bizarrely,   one person ID that I submitted on the Monday itself. The 287   other submissions for editorless shows and people I did between   Friday and Monday went unnoticed and unloved, so the 56   submissions here don't go towards a level increase.

That didn't work... I had set everything up to get a percentage point on Tuesday, but didn't realise that TV.com would be shut on Monday! 1% appears to be the going rate for 300 submissions, something I can only achieve once a week, so it will take me until January 2008 before to reach Level 53! I will have to find something else to do midweek... Meanwhile, my grab for points meant that I picked up 6 new shows: Call Me Mister, Call The Gun Expert, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, The Mask of Janus, Mr Rose and Redcap, with a seventh arriving tomorrow. I am happy to report that, after 2 months, 5 PMs, a blog post, a comment on a staff member's blog, and several forum posts, my outstanding submissions from December 2005 (for one show with a retired editor, one with an inactive one) were finally approved. Kudos to missribs, who cleared every sub mentioned in the outstanding submissions thread, including one I posted about Hetty Wainthropp Investigates when I realised what she was clearing the list, and which she cleared within an hour of me posting!

Interesting... I got no increase for 100+ submissions, so went for broke, tidying three of the guides that were in a state of some disrepair when I found them. Because of the narrow range of outputs, and because I was able to obtain all the information I needed from just four sources, I achieved a lower research/submission ratio than I have ever managed before, but still achieved just 1%. On that basis, this may well be my last ever increase...
