Done with football

Today it became official. After 13 years or so of playing football today I left my team and will transfer schools at the semester mark. I played 2 years of college football, can't say I enjoyed any of it but its been an experience to say the least.

Next up, getting in to THE Ohio State University to complete my undergraduate work and get to work on my law school application. There comes a point in everyone's life where a major change has to be made in order to pursue a dream, mine came today. I am excited, and sad to be sure, my girlfriend won't be following me but we are going to try to make it work so I have faith in that.

The biggest difference is going to be going from a full scholarship to minor scholarships based on grades...but I think I'm ready.

X-mas has come and gone...the haul

This was my first "adult" christmas. I got alot of things I needed for around my apartment and in real life, not so many fun things. My girlfriend and I did get the Wii though and she got me Galaxy which is amazing to play together. I still had a great Christmas though...here's what I got:

-Wii

-Super Mario Galaxy

-Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

-Warhawk

-The Patriot on Blu-Ray

-Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

-Mass Effect

-Kroger's gift cards

-A nice calendar

-Black bath towels, hand towels, rugs, and a shower curtain

-A silverware organizer

-A basket to put my controllers in and clear up space on my coffee table

-A vacuum (god I needed it...I haven't vacuumed in 4 months...Seriously I take my shoes off outside lol)

-Shirts from Aeropostale and the Bengals

-I ordered a Riddell Revolution Hitz helmet for the upcoming season (I was going to buy the helmet I used for college football anyway, this just fast forwarded the process)

That about covers it. Now that I look at it...this X-mas wasn't disappointing at all haha it was pretty amazing actually!

I now own a Wii...and have all 3 consoles!

I was walking into Wal-Mart to get groceries when the announcement over the intercom came. My girlfriend rushed over from her dorm, we got in line, and got one with a copy of Super Mario Galaxy and an extra Wii-mote. When we went to pay for Galaxy a woman who had come in too late was there demanding a Wii. She turned around, saw ours and said: "Wow, so you got the last one huh? (Italicized to show hatred) Well I was going to give one to a single mom..."

My girlfriend said, "And I've got cancer, everyone has a story" and we left.

We feel a bit bad now, but that woman totally wanted it for her kids lol I mean they were right there with her. But who cares I got one! The amazing thing? 20 Wiis, all sold in 25 minutes.

hoorai broken nose?

Whew, a few weeks ago during practice a shoulder pad blade went through my eye opening and broke my nose/cut my eyelid deep. I was a mess, some of the athletic training students freaked and everybody made a big deal thinking I lost my eye. I told them that I managed to blink in time and that I didn't do anything but scratch it but they still freaked because blood + eye = eye ball falling out lol.

Well, I had the nose surgery, and it went alright. My nose is no longer crooked which is nice, its still swollen though so its hard to know how normal it looks.

On the downside I'm done for the season...which sucks but whatever, its just another 3-4 weeks depending on how you look at it. Then its right back to work.

Blog post count +1.

Bless you, Microsoft...

Coming on day 2 of playing on my Elite...and all I have to say is WOW.  I have Saint's Row, Gears of War, and Viva Pinata and I can hardly believe the fun I'm having (on an SD TV no less).

Gears is fantastic, its awesome, it IS the GOTY 2006.  Its like all of the best comic books rolled in to one.  Blowing up Locust is just a satisfying experience.

Saint's Row is alot of things GTA should be, and alot of things it isn't.  I love the targeting, that in and of itself makes this game miles better than the last few GTA's.  The driving controls could use some work, and there is some graphical flicker, but to spend 3 hours just doing Mayhem activities says this game is fantastic.

Viva Pinata, its so relaxing...I love it.  Its the slowest and requires the most thinking of all of my games so far and that is a great thing.  I'm loving trying to get the pinatas to move in...great great game.

All in all, this machine is great, I love it.  Can't wait to get an HDTV for it.

I got my 360 Elite!

That's right, after months of lurking in these forums, researching and biding my time, I jumped in...

Unfortunatley, I'm waiting for a new TV...which given the recent crop of absolute CRAP LCD technology (see my General Hardware Board posts) might end up being a makeshift Samsung TX-T3092WH...Who knows? Any thoughts?

Spring Ball is comin to an end...

Wow its been awhile since I posted a blog.  Well, Spring Practice for football is comin to an end this week with our Blue/White game on Saturday.  I'm excited for it, but even more so I want it to be over...then I get a few weeks off for summer and then right back to workin out and getting ready to play Indiana game 1 of the fall.

I'm also looking forward to May because I will be getting a 360 Elite here on the 29th, and then my HDTV in May...some great gaming headed my way!
