I didnt use standoffs,my case dosent have any. That's a problem. If your case didn't come with any(not all do), then you need to stop by a computer hardware store(Frys, Microcenter, etc) and pick some up.[QUOTE="2ndWonder"]Is this your first build? Make sure you didn't screw the mobo down on the case. There are some things you screw into the case, then put your mobo on and you then you put screws into those. Don't know what they are called. If you screw the mobo directly to the case, then your pc won't boot no matter what you do. I made this n00b mistake with my first build and quickly learned and fixed it afterwards. :P Alienware_fan
would that be the problem then?FletchrfcCheck the ram usage while you are playing and find out for yourself if thats the cause. We can't tell you for sure since we cant see your usage numbers or anything.
The 32-bit version of windows is limited to 4gb of ram. There's nothing you can do about it except to upgrade to the 64-bit version.
I wouldn't think all the lights would have lit up if the PSU was faulty, but I could be wrong. This is my third build, so i kinda know what im doing I have doubled check the cons and the stand offs. Is the only posiblity now that the PSU is faulty?

It's a bit slow. :P 500GB isn't bad for an OS, but yeah it's pretty slow. Will you be getting an SSD for your OS hard drive? Unfortunately, no. It's not in my budget, since I need to get a monitor and things like that, but as prices drop, I will definitely consider getting an SSD for my OS.[QUOTE="Elann2008"][QUOTE="realguitarhero5"] Which is a 5400rpm made by Hitachi. And as a bonus, it's only 500gb.realguitarhero5
EDIT: Also, apparently I have 375.53 GB of games just on Steam. I can only fit a handful on my hard drive at a time.
The slow boot times are caused by the hard drive. If you re-use that hard drive in a new build, the slow boot times will carry over as well. It doesnt make sense to spend money on brand new fast parts, and then slap a turtle speed HDD in it.Is this your first build? Make sure you didn't screw the mobo down on the case. There are some things you screw into the case, then put your mobo on and you then you put screws into those. Don't know what they are called.
