I kind of like hating on the Wii U, because I really do think the hardware is junk, but it's currently the only next gen console that I can see offering something fundamentally different than my PC for gaming. At least it's not a giant DRM brick like the Xbone.

The console was designed like crap. Everyone knows this. The slim model is the first one to not have garbage failure rates and also the first one to last me 2 years. I had a video card failure, an HDMI port failure, and two RRODs. Once they replaced it with a slim model I've had no issues, though.
What I'll remember about my 360 is that Halo 3 was epic and worth buying the console for, and that I've gone through 5 consoles in 7 years due to hardware failures (though I only ever paid for one... all died within their warranty period).
