@Aaronp2k @The_Beanster What makes you assert that? If God wrote the book, and said that not everyone would believe it (which it says), then you would expect exactly what we have today - some people believe it and some don't.
#1) I've read more about these things than you think
#2) Arguing that there are formal similarities between something in the Bible and something in another religion is not at all the same as arguing that the Bible is "based off" another religion
#3) If you actually compare the accounts of the Bible to other ANE sources, you find that where the Bible has appropriated similar content, it has totally reframed it theologically even if it is formally similar.
#4) If the Bible were actually true, wouldn't you expect other religions to have at least formal similarities to the Bible? This sort of logic cuts both ways.
@Aaronp2k @juboner @The_Beanster @LiquidGold what if you are wrong and i am right. What if the real god doesn't appreciate you not believing some guy called Jesus the real son of God died for us on a cross, and condemns you to hell. What are you gonna do then?
