@bledsoe45sbc If they are doing this because they think it will help them compete with Steam (or Sony or anyone else), that's about as rational as if I go jump off a bridge because I think it will help me fly to the moon.

@bledsoe45sbc But the way X360 downloads work already has DRM... they're tied to your account and can only be used on one 360 at a time.


They don't need to change anything to be competitive in this sphere, and AO-DRM certainly doesn't help anything.

You know what? I hope they actually do this and that it flops HORRIBLY.

Maybe then EA and all other companies will stop trying to push AO-DRM.

@bledsoe45sbc No... they could just do what Steam does and simply require download + activation for digitally purchased games. And nothing would need to change for retail-purchased games.


Always-on DRM doesn't help them at all.

@bledsoe45sbc Not sure you get it... always-online puts M$ at a competitive disadvantage compared to steam.

If they're targeting Steam as their competition, it's just as ass-backwards as if they're targeting Sony.
