Yeah I'd take Supreme Commander. It's based on Total Annihilation, one of the best RTS games of all time, and SC doesn't dissapoint.

It's definitely got options for the defensive player, in fact with the nukes and heavy artillery it's even possible to win without actively "attacking" (not likely though against a skilled person).

My personal favorite remains Dawn of War, regardless.

This is a stretch, but you are looking for an MMO you could give EVE-online a shotPoedon

I have actually played that before. Not really like Homeworld though.

This pretty much applies to any game series you think will never be worked on again, for me I'll start off with the game "TIE Fighter". They made other ones, like "X Wing" but TIE fighter was the best. To see that game again with new graphics would be pretty sweet.

Also Alpha Centauri, now there was a good game. Imagine that with Civilization 4 technology

The manual for Homeworld 1 was the best manual I've ever read. It was so awesome, and so high quality.

You know, at the end of the day, all I want is Baldur's Gate 3. Even more than a Fallout sequel, spiritual or not.

WoW = Waiting on Warhammer

That said, yes, I still play it. It's not bad but it's gotten pretty stagnant.

Yeah this isn't concise enough.In terms of quality, I'd say EVE.In terms of atmosphere, I'd say FFXI.In terms of fun, I'd say WoW.In terms of cost, it's obviously guild wars.

Sins of a Solar Empire (SoaSE?) sounds awesome.

I have played Homeworld 1 and 2 a lot but never Cataclysm, I'll try that out also

Try EVE online for a bit.There is a "cap" to your skills, but it would literally take years of solid training to get them (by which time, new expansions would have been released, and new skills implemented - which means there is effectively NO maximum to how powerful you get).If that doesn't work for you, you may like FFXI. Apart from some economy issues I really had fun with it while I played it.To be honest those are the only two MMOs I would even consider playing besides WoW currently, and even warcraft is getting pretty thin lately.

I loved that series but now that it's pretty much dead with little hope of reviving, does anyone know of other games which are like it (and hopefully are good too). Space based RTS games are few and far between sadly.
