Wilmington tomorrow...

Okay, I'm bored as hell over at my house, so I'm going with my dad to Wilmington tomorrow. There's not a whole lot to do there either, but a hell of a lot more than there is here. Anyway, my summer hasn't been going very well... The end of it draws near, and I have yet to do anything exciting. I went to the beach twice and I saw two movies, aside from that trip I went on, I didn't do anything else. What's really stupid is the fact that they expect us to read books for my Honors English class over the summer... I'm going to finish up the first book tonight, then I'll write a summary on it. After that I'll finish the second one, which will be one less pain in the ass for this summer.

Gaming is getting really boring to me lately. I've been playing a lot of them, but I can honestly say I'm not enjoying it. I sent in my 8800gts for repairs a few days ago... I hope I get it replaced soon... For now I'm trying to beat Fable. It's a pretty cool game, but it gets boring very easily. I should be able to finish it when I get back from Wilmington, which will be on Friday. I'm not sure if I should review the game or not, but I'll think about it. After I beat that, I want to be sure to beat Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and FEAR by the end of summer. I'll most likely review both of those, even though it's basically pointless...

My main goal was to beat Fable, GTA: San Andreas, Rise of Legends, Age of Empires 3, Unreal 2, UT2004, FEAR/Extraction Point, Guild Wars, Oblivion, and then Titan Quest. But now I realize that isn't going to happen... Unless I do nothing but play games for 3 weeks straight. I'll just take most of my games slow... I'll play Oblivion on and off, I probably won't even bother with Unreal 2, and I will beat Age of Empires 3 and Rise of Legends, but I'll get to that a little later...

Well, there you have it. Another worthless blog post by me, that's not worth a read, or a comment. (Comment anyway if you've read it lol...)

My Trip in Minnesota

Bottom Line: It sucked.

I'm going to make this post in chronological order:

First of all, we flew on a plane. While I was flying, a pretty girl happened to sit next to me. I was freaking out for about an hour wanting to commit suicide because I was afraid she would slap me or something. Then she started talking to me and I felt a little bit better.... When I arrived back from the plane, I went to my cousin Cory's house. Unfortunately, he wasn't there long so I barely even got to hang out with him.

The next day I went to a second-cousin's house. She happened to have 2 hot friends that wanted me to talk to them. I was nervous as hell for about 2 or 3 hours, and didn't talk to them for a while. Eventually I decided I would... And they're actually really cool... Oh wait, I'll never see them again in my life! So that was basically pointless.

Next I went to my cousin Ryan's house. He had some decent computers, but a crappy internet connection. I was forced to play Runescape for a while considering their crappy connection, that was the only game I could really play online. I'm afraid that I might be getting addicted to Runescape again, which is horrible... Because it's one of the worst games of all time.

Next I went in a hotel... A very nice one at that. It had an Indoor Waterpark, an Arcade, and Resturaunts, but I was too depressed to do any of that stuff. So I basically just sat there sleeping the entire time. Lastly was the wedding.... And man, that was boring as hell!!! I had to sit there for 6 hours doing absolutely nothing, and the wedding is what we really went up north for... I'm glad I'm home now, but I'm going to miss those girls... And it's probably going to be more boring sitting around here...

Going up north tomorrow...

I haven't posted a blog in a while (or been on Gamespot for that matter), so I decided to post one for a change. I'm going up north to Minnesota tomorrow, and I'll be gone for two weeks... I'm looking forward to going actually, because I haven't seen my cousins in forever. I wish I could bring my 1337 computer with though lol.

Speaking of my computer, it's been running quite nicely, though there are a few things that are pissing me off. For one thing, the monitor doesn't recieve a signal when I power my computer on, so I have to restart it over and over again till it works. It has froze on Guild Wars twice, but that's probably a Vista related problem. Vista for one thing, is a piece of crap at the moment. Sure, its 3D Interface is pretty, and it has a few cool features, but nothing that makes it worth getting. Direct X10 Support sucks for the moment, no games have seemed to get stable framerates with DX10 yet. Another thing about Vista is that it takes up a hell of a lot of resources. When I'm running nothing but the OS itself, it usually says 30 processes are running! Though most of those processes are instances of the same thing.

If you look past the Vista problems and the powerup issue though, it's a very nice computer. I got my RAM upgraded to 2 gigs last week, and that has made a huge performance increase in many of my games. I also found out how to enable Dual-Channel as well, so that helps too. My framerate in a few games isn't quite as good as I'd want it to be, but most of those games are badly optimized. However, in games like Far Cry I get 100fps average, which is excellent considering it is maxed! I also get 100fps in most other games that are 2 years old, they still look great though. I'm having some kind of weird issue with FEAR where it runs great when I first start it up, and then 2 minutes into the game it doesn't go past 40fps, my driver update didn't fix that problem either and the game is fully patched. Battlefield 2 won't install, and I first thought that was due to Vista, but my disc was actually messed up. It doesn't look very scratched, but there is one deep mark in it that I guess can't be read, so I might have to buy another copy of the game...

Well, that's all I have to talk about for now, but just letting you know in advanced that I won't be on for two weeks after today.

Forum Sigs Work!

Well, I spent a while with those Userbar things and I made them into my forum signatures because there was this website that animated them. There's a total of 20 different images (all premade) in 2 bars, so there are 10 in each of them. One of them includes all the games I play, while the other one includes some bands I listen to.

This probably isn't really worth a forum post, but I'm bored and have nothing better to do. I'll update my sig with my new PC specs as well when it arrives. I'm in Wilmington right now, I just traded in all of my 360 games to EB Games and bought FEAR: Gold Edition. In addition to that, I reserved Crysis (not pre-ordered) so they'll make sure I can get a copy and I got $7 off of the game when I do decide to buy it.

My computer should arrive in a week or so, though I've been waiting for a LONG time! I better get to play it before I go up to Minnesota to see all my cousins. I'm looking forward to doing that, but it would be nice to be able to try out my new computer as well. The only problem is that only 1gb of RAM is in there, so I'll have to save up for another gig or two (sorry Oblivion, you might have to wait:()

Well, that's about all I have to say for now. When I find something interesting to post about, I will do so tomorrow, that is, IF I find anything interesting.

Beat HL2/ School's Out!

After playing the single player Half Life 2 campaign for over 20 hours, I have finally beaten it. I ment to post this yesterday, but I guess I forgot to. I can honestly say that Half Life 2 is now one of my favorite PC Games I've ever played. I loved the physics, they just make it seem so much more "next-gen" then other games claim to be, and bear in mind, HL2 is over 2 years old! The graphics are great, it runs fairly well on my PC, but it should run flawlessly when I get my new computer. I liked being able to travel in that car and the boat as well in the game, it made it more interesting.

I was going to write a review on HL2, but Gamespot is being gay and won't let me write a review "until I have reached level 3", those stupid panzies. I can understand that they wouldn't want someone just creating new accounts and spamming a bunch of useless reviews, but who's to say a level 20 member won't do the same? The level things are really kind of pointless, but I guess being able to access the features that levels would usualy restrict you to is just one more reason to become a Gamespot Gold member.

Other than beating Half Life 2, I haven't been up to much lately. Oh yeah, and SCHOOL IS OUT! I'm finally done with 8th grade and that torturous Middle School I had to bare for the past 3 hellish years of my pathetic life. Hopefully things will get much better for me in High School, and if they don't... I don't know what I will do. I might start excersizing or something, just so I can feel like I'm more active, though I don't know if that will neccessarily help in any way. Maybe I should try to be less depressed than I usually am, though I find that difficult.

I'm going to miss the very few friends I had at my Middle School, I can say that much. Nothing great has happened to me while I was there though... I had a girlfriend for a short while (maybe a week or so), but she left me after that, for a kid that's even more of a loser than I am. I am still sometimes upset over it, though I've been getting better about it, not as much as I used to (well, I don't know about that one).

I can only hope that things get better from here. I have a long summer ahead of me, but I hope I make good use of it. I'm not sure how different High School will be, but I want more freedom. I am tired of these stupid boundaries that people create, just to try to prevent me from doing what I desire, so they can be satisfied, in their own mind, that they have won. All I'm saying, is that I want a change.

New Gamespot account!

Well, I just made this gamespot account. My previous account went by the name of "Zorbrak", and I wrote a few reviews here and there, and made it to about level 9. I eventually lost interest in Gamespot, just because I didn't have any games to review on! For a while I had lost interest in games completely. I had ended up selling my Xbox 360 for $280 because I didn't think I would be playing any video games any time soon.

I'm getting back into video games again, and though dealing with the whole "depression" thing detracts from being able to function like I normally would on other days, I can still get by just fine usually. I bought Half-Life 2, which happens to be an amazing game, I've gotten about half way through the game so far, and I'm finishing it up this week! My little sister bought Guild Wars: Nightfall, after I suggested she should. I'm not quite sure if whether or not she likes it, but I'm going to start playing it when I beat Half Life 2 probably, unless I am too busy downloading mods for it.

I'm getting a new computer in about 2 weeks or so, and the wait is driving me crazy. But after I get it, it should open up oppurtunities for more games for me to play, and I will be able to enjoy a more realistic experience due to graphics and things like that. I'll list the specs for the new PC later in case anyone wants to see.

Well, I'm running out of things to talk about now. I may or may not transfer my reviews from my other Gamespot account, but after looking through my reviews, I have seen that I have definitely improved as a writer, and I may just re-write every review that I have written so far. Anyway, I probably won't be on Gamespot again until I beat Half-Life 2, which shouldn't take too long. But I won't be posting anything until then.
