Halo 2 Guardian Angel

Halo 2 Guardian Angel

I've put together a website; www.xbox-game.co.uk to help other Halo 2 players get the most out of this awesome Xbox game.

I welcome any ideas and suggestions people may have, on how this site can be a really useful resource. Take a look and tell me what you think Halo 2

Thanks!:D

I'm a grizzled ancient!

I'm an old school guy that used to come here in 1998... I then later decided to sign up an account in 2003 and use the forums for a bit (on GameFAQs back in the day! lol) but then I forgot about logging in and posting for about a year, and that is why my post count and level appear low in comparison to my join date.

I love this site so much. It provides everything I need, and has great little user features and rewards. It's awesome!

Polishing up and off!

I'm finally getting round to finishing off games that I left at 90% complete. Mostly awesome RPG's on the PS2, like FFX, Star Ocean, and FFVIII. After which I can start FFX-2, restart FFVII and get on with Oblivion!:P

Of course, I'm always playing Halo 2, that's what distracts me from other games...:?

You do not talk about fight club.

If you have found yourself reading the thoughts loosely strung together on this blog, you are most likely an ardent fan and avid player of Halo 2 on Xbox Live. Why else [and even more importantly, how else] would you have come here? While my friends and relatives may stop by to make sure that I am still 'okay', little of what is spoken here makes any amount of sense to the uninitiated. This blog, much like hundreds of fansites, has a bit of a one track mind. And thank The Forerunner for that! If not for safe fanboy havens like Tied the Leader [and everywhere else you misappropriate your employer's payroll resources], with whom would you share your rants and war stories as a gamer? You can't take those pearls of conversation to the water cooler, or out onto the street. Oh no; Mister!

You do not talk about Fight Club. The general population of gamers has never been healthier. And we need to stick together. No one really knows what we are talking about when we tell them that we cannot accept their invitations to venture out of doors [GASP!] because our clan has arranged a challenge with another clan. To them, it sounds like you are painting your face blue and making your way to Stirling Bridge. Those poor, deprived souls have no concept of the blood-pounding rush that only comes from delivering your opponent's flag safely back to the glowing circle in the keep of your base.

Nope... You do not talk about fight club. No matter how you try, you will never convince someone who has never participated in an online multiplayer experience how cool you are for scoring a Killtacular in the insanity of a Multi-Team match - just last night. You might as well tell them that you are working on a killer Jedi costume for Halloween. Your fascinating tales of skill and domination will only be met with the frozen stare of someone who is politely masking their pity. Even worse, they may be masking their fear! Just last week, my morning walk to work through the maze of Downtown Chicago found me chatting away on my mobile phone with a teammate.

Him and I were catching up and planning some time to train up for an evening of organized gaming against the professional detachment from an event. As I came to rest at a stoplight, traffic whizzing by at fatal speeds, I let it slip: "We will have time to sort out the details tonight; but if we have enough snipers in place on the high ground, we should have no problem arming the bomb." Did I say that? Yes. Did the trenchcoat standing next to me [the one waiting for the same light to turn Green] hear me say it? Yup! The sidelong glance was unmistakable. What must that poor bastard be thinking?

Do I tell him that I am playing a video game with enough seriousness to warrant a telephone conversation before I reach my desk? Or do I let him wonder which building in the skyline might be gone if he does not tackle me right now. Either way, the explanation would go bad. When the traffic signal changes, I let him get a head start at putting some distance between us, with his briefcase clutched in a white-knuckled grip. Perhaps Morpheus said it best: "No one can be told what the Matrix is..."

I love DOA4! ^_^

It's just such a great game! One of the few games that you can enjoy playing all the time and it's not a chore to play it. This is my opinion, as I know, that it takes awhile to get into it. It took me about 3 hours to actually get past the fustration and once you've got a hang of the controls, it's actually an awesome experience, especially online. That's where the real fun is!:P:D

Two awesome upcoming RPG's!!!

Final Fantasy XII and Phantasy Star Universe. I will getting both of these and most definately will be playing them A LOT. PSU in particular because of its online aspect paired with the 360 will be great, just like the good ol' PSO days! :D

I'm especially interested in FFXII as it looks similar to Skies of Arcadia and FF Tatics... I'm looking forward to exploring the world there with the airships! :P

I think I own every Sonic game!

Just the other day, I was looking through my MegaDrive collection, admiring previous legendary titles, and found all my beloved Sonic games. I played them to death. They were first and favourite games, and always will be.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic Spinball
Sonic 3D Blast

I also had Sonic R on the PC, and the music I will always remember! :)

I then moved to my Dreamcast collection to see Sonic Adventure 1&2 and Sonic Shuffle. Sonic Adventure was one of the most exciting games I played, I was literally drooling over it when I got it cos it looked so awesome! And I'm proud to say I painstakingly got every emblem in both adventures, yes, all 130 in the first, all 180 in the second!:D

Then I found Sonic Advance 1,2&3, Sonic Pinball Party and Sonic Battle (which is almost Sonic Adventure 3 in a story way...) on the GBA, great little titles, really brings back the good ol' Sonic days.

And then onto the 3 current consoles: Sonic Heroes (GC), Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GC), Sonic Mega Collection Plus (Xbox), Sonic Gems Collection (PS2). And all those completed my GameGear and Master System holes I had!

So there concludes my history with the blue boomer! (This is the brief version, I could go on and on about each title, but that'd be boring for you!:P)

OMG! Oblivion!

I now know why so many people keep going on about Oblivion. Because it is actually an amazing game! The world is so expansive and full of detail! And the dungeons have impressive lighting, I've have been scared to death by numerous skeletons jumping out at me from the shadows, and traps going off around me!

I think everyone should at least try this game, there is so much to do and to customise! Recommend to all!:D

Me and gaming...

Well, I have been gaming since I was 3, and started with a Sega Megadrive. I played on it so much and for so long, and amassed an admirable collection of 50 games. My next console was a big jump to the Dreamcast, I decided to stay faithful to Sega and skip the N64 and PS1. My DC was amazing, the best part about it was a proper 3D, full adventure Sonic game! I quickly stepped up my collection to another hefty 50 games, of which all were well played and made use of. Legendary games were Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Fur Fighters, Evolution, MSR, Soul Calibur and PSO, the game I've never spent so much time on before (1500 hours!!!) in my life. The online play was truly awesome.

The GBA came out at some point, which didn't appeal to me much, but when I found out that Sega was releasing a Sonic game on it, I immediately got one for that reason. I also dabbled about with Pokemon and other Nintendo games to see if they were any good (me being a Sega fan viewed Nintendo as the enemy), and I was pleasently surprised!

Impressed with some of Nintendo's games and still staying faithful to Sega, I bought a GameCube when it was released, for such games as Sonic, Zelda and SSBM. Metroid Prime was also great, along with other titles like Tales of Symphonia. But again, PSO consumed me and I played online again on the GC this time, and again enjoyed the thrill of PSO!

Then, sadly, the GameCube went through a very dry period of good games. Just... nothing. I started exploring aspects of the Xbox, which at the time had already been out for a year. After seeing what it could offer, as well as seeing how awesome Halo looking, I decided to get an Xbox with Halo. OMG! I was blown away with how amzing how much Halo had to offer! It is just an overall awesome game! Me and my bro played through campaign many times, and got friends together for small LAN parties. I also had a look at other games Xbox had to offer, such as PGR2, Fable, Forza, SW:KotOR, and the legendary Rainbow Six 3. That game was my next PSO. RS3 was my main Xbox Live game when I got my Xbox. I played it for about 1500 hours (yes, the same as PSO strangely) and got into the top 200 players by the time Black Arrow came out. I just loved the tatical feel it offered, and the teamwork you could employ.

After a year of owning at RS3 and its counterpart; Black Arrow, Halo 2 came out... Well, lets just say I didn't play much RS3 after that. I think I may have played almost everyday since it was released. I have made new friends and lost dear ones from my transition from RS3 to H2.

And now, after all this time playing H2, I now compete in online tournaments (yes, for money) on Halo 2. Me and my team are very strong, and are good friends online. We are ranked up with some of the top UK teams (technically seeded 16th, although that's just with this tournament site).

So there you are, a brief history of my gaming life! There is a bit more on my MSN space, link in the other blog post.

Thanks for reading!
