@systemoverload: I was semi-joking because of course newer tech is better than tech that was abandoned 6-7 years ago. But this actually is mostly propaganda to placate people who were forced to settle for the 2nd best option at the time, especially the fragile/short-life thing. Compared to those LCDs????? Not even close. Maybe in the 90s that was a thing with new plasmas vs a tube. But say 10 years ago vs an LCD? No, not in an LCD's wildest dreams.
@rasterror: Those excuses were closer to facts and actually based on something that they in fact do regularly. So yes, it does help me sleep better. And the a speculative article that may as well just be part of a comment section itself, actually makes me feel even more confident if that's the closest proof you have. Anyway I didn't claim one thing or the other, but nobody has said they are targeting 30fps, whereas a few have confirmed 60.
It's common sense you won't be able to have the full ray tracing and all effects running. It will be up to the developers themselves.
@rasterror: Tell me you're not basing that on intro trailers of games that could be over a year away. Also keep in mind that cinematic scenes run at lower frame rates because they look stupid and cheap at 60fps. There has been very little actual gameplay shown from either system and Senoa 2 running at 24fps(movies/tv) is evidence that this is likely what people are seeing.
Looks like they went for 60fps over graphics, as it should be. Quality graphics at 30fps is great, so long as you stay perfectly still. Actually playing the game will suck though.
@JimmyCos: Maybe you did something wrong or they don't like you because the opposite is true for me. I've gotten a little bit of a free gift several times over the life of PS+ without hearing a news story or a reason. So they even did it without screaming for attention. I think it was about 10 years ago I randomly got around $40-50 from psn for just existing.
