Anyways - since you are getting a Intel P35 motherboard, the support on Crossfire is minimal, since with the chipset, it can't run two ATI cards in Crossfire with both at X16 mode, currently what is known - only the X38 will support dual X16 slots for Crossfire - so I say you should hold out till the X38 boards are released before getting Crossfire.

Hi guys im building a new PC these are the specs -

Processor - Intel Quad Core Q6600

Memory - 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066Mhz

Motherboard - ASUS® P5K PREMIUM/WiFi: DUAL DDR2, SATA II,2 x x16 VGA, 3 x PCI

Hard Drive - 150GB WD Raptor 16MB Cache 10000rpm

OS - 64bit Windows Vista

PSU - 900w Quiet Quad Rail

Now im wondering what graphics cards to get, leaning towards getting 2x 512MB Radeon2900XT's.Read up on loads of benchmarks and reviews of ATI 2900XT's with conflicting resaults from what i can see it is somewhere power wise between the 8800gts and the 8800gtx!

I've also read stand alone reviews on the 2900XT and know it had features the the 8*** series cards dont so just looking for some future proofingbut the raw performance of the 8*** cards makes them better.

Will Crossfire 2900XT run crysis high-max thats what i really would like to know?

Im lookinf for the 2x 2900xt's to last a couple of years then upgrade to whatever ATI have then, but if needs be i could scrape abit more money and go with the 8800GTX SLI but thats a last resort!

I own an Xbox 360, PS3 and a PC not any of them are my main system of choice, i get satisfaction from each of them!

What has happened here has aloud other fanboys to team up on the lemmings and i think its unfair. Don't get me wrong i hate all fanboys got no time for them.

The last time I checked "Gaming PC Maker Company" didn't get up in front of the press and industry at E3 and give a keynotebriefing, did they? Do we track gaming PC sales on NPD or vidgamechartz???

When it comes to exclusivity, to me, I only look at the consoles and what is exclusive to them. If a game is on the PC, that's fine and all, but it just doesn't enter the conversation, let alone the argument when it comes to debating who is leading this generation of videogames. It just doesn't. The big system war is between the console makers. THAT is why we track sales of consoles. That is why when a game is on the 360 and the PC, I still consider it an exclusive to the 360. The fact that it is on the PC as well, to me, has little impact. It still means that it is NOT on the PS3 or the Wii. If the real battle is between the "Big 3", then shouldn't this be the case?

Oh, and can somebody report Casey for starting up a post with the sole purpose to flame?

i really can understand the points that the TC made. coz i'm a big PC FPS fans myself, every FPS on consoles just play stupid. and yes, that includes Killzone and Resistance. the aiming is not as quite good as PC. i really hope MP 3 on the Wii will play better. anyway, and you should call it Xcrap 360, not crapstation. :wink:

well ps3 needs some compettition as there is no competition vs xbox360 we have to search another victim...

Oh come on, man, lol. The 360 is the only logical comparison for the PS3, and yes I completely agree that some games that are getting ready to be released are going to be easily graphically superior to what the 360 has had so far. But to go after a game that looks like Crysis....just no.

While I certainly think that games like Haze, Uncharted, and Heavenly Sword can hold their own in that they will still look great next to Crysis.....it will still be evidently clear that Crysis is still on another level. Because it just is....end of story, man. I am a huge supporter of the PS3, and the 360 as well for that matter....but I am also a realist, lol. Crysis is the graphics God right now.
