So, Skate 2, the game being released today, has gotten a 7.5 rated review. I disagree. skate. redefined skating games and gave it a new approach. A more accurate statement would be "Tony Hawk skating games are done."

I agree with your disagreement. I stopped playing skating games after Tony Hawk 3 and have never looked back. I remember renting Thrasher and loving it, thinking that skateboarding games are meant to be more realistic. So when skate came out, I didn't even bat an eye at it since I was done with skateboarding in general. When I saw the demo for skate 2 on the psn recently, I was hesitant to try it out. Luckily I did and it turned out to be extremely fun. Now I'm definitely planning on getting this game for sure and I've been out of the skateboarding game genre for a long time. I could never skateboard because I suck, but skate 2 actually feels like your skateboarding.
