@scooby_dooo: You are absolutely correct. However the games you mentioned are big theatrical games with scripted scenarios, carefully written plots and main story lines. NMS. Is not.

@rsiebelink: Spot on. This game as a mmo would be a shining star in a sea of bullshit. This game as a single player game is dead in a month.

@virtuoid: I think the issue here is that NO ONE will EVER see you. It is not a multiplayer game and that fact, in my opinion is what is missing from this very special sauce.

I am in awe that an indy developer made this game possible. Huge kudos to the entire team. It shows that a few individuals can make fantastic things come alive.

With that praise out of the way, i think they also overlooked the most important aspect in games like these. Exploration is no fun at all, unless you can share it with someone. Multiplayer should have been the core element. With all these possibilities, all the adventures all it sums up too is: one very lonely adventure.

Down the line, i think they will realize this and if they have the resources and the technical capabilities. I think they could eventually save the game, by adding actual multiplayer functionalities. This game as a MMO would be the biggest creation since ultima online and word of warcraft.
