A new generation of games with power from the cloud: Because every Xbox One owner has a broadband connection, developers can create massive, persistent worlds that evolve even when you’re not playing. "
"Because every Xbox One owner has a broadband connection"
@m4a5 " Share access to your games with everyone inside your home:Your friends and family, your guests and acquaintances get unlimited access to all of your games. Anyone can play your games on your console--regardless of whether you are logged in or their relationship to you."
@lilcurt1978 @TohouAsura @experience_fade Which means your internet has to stay stable. Also only works if your console stays on and doesn't switch on games without discs.
Anything but playing PURE single player requires authentication.
This practice isn't effective outside the U.S.
Why do you people agree to this? Do you not see the meaning behind this?
@experience_fade @TohouAsura It is terrible. There is no reason for it. It benefits us very little. It also makes any ownership you have on your merchandise incomplete and temporary. At any given moment, your console can and will shut down without your consent. It toys with the very concept of ownership.
And SONY's stance was declared on this already. No Always-Online DRM of any sort. Not practical, they said.
@experience_fade @TohouAsura Yes, you are fucked. My internet went out for half the day, genius.
The system also needs to authenticate every time you install something, when you load a game without disc, when you play a game with some online functionality, even if it's SP... Basically all the time.
There is no need for such a system, it has no benefit for the user.
Absolutely none. And yet you bend over and take it. WHY?
