@mjswooosh @TohouAsura @noahsbigassark Exactly. I actually have no problem buying a game from, say, GOG, because it doesn't matter, I own that account and I own the game, virtually. I can then immediately backup my game and make as many copies of it as I wish, even if GOG closes. If it doesn't, then I have both a local AND an online copy, recoverable at any time.
If any of the current game service DRMs close down however, all my games become forfeit.
@eva02langley @Mr_Big_Boss Because they could make a much bigger profit by backing out and attracting every person who cares about his property rights back to PlayStation.
It may not be as effective in America, but in Europe it will be groundbreaking.
@mjswooosh @noahsbigassark It's even Ironic because while the PC entry price is high, in the end, it's much more worth it because the games themselves are actually a ton cheaper.
I wanted consoles to survive for the preservance of Physical media, but when even physical media doesn't assure you ownership of a property, well, what's the point anyway?
@MurderMode @ZeroSky IT doesn't work like that. Microsoft article's sources were directly quoted from officials within Microsoft itself.
This is a speculation by some journalist on a game site that supposedly has "friends". At the same time a user from "NeoGAF", which is usually very credible, has leaked SONY is flopping about this and might back out of the used game block.
Both contradicting reports, both just as credible, only one source appears.
He has every right to question the legitimacy of this article.
