Hi guys,

It's been a long while since i've actually been on. Hope you're all doing well and gaming as much as ever! And I also hope life is treating you well.

I've been working hard the past couple of months, and as of late I've been thinking of buying a console. I've been a major PC Gamer for a a few years now and i'm now looking to try something new. The old comp is actually getting on a bit believe it or not, and i'm not really planning to upgrade until the beginning of January seeing as 2010 seems like an exciting year for PC gaming.

I know it's a typical choice between Xbox 360 and the New PS3. While i'm a fan of both, and both have exclusives that look fantastic, i would just like to ask for peoples opinions on what's a best buy? Whats more beneficial in the long run and something that would keep my interest going instead of completing a game and leaving the console to gather dust until a new one comes out?

I guess it's down to the games more or less, but what one would i get the most out of?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Tommo.

Half-Life.

Lord_Nas3k

Indeed, for me it has to be Half-Life. Now just looking forward to Black Mesa Source.

No. More players at the same time won't make it better, they will ruin the game, it's not fun not having a clue what you're doing when you're casting huge spells, fighting lots and lots and lots of monsters with the usual boss monsters, lots of blood, etc at the same time with another 15+ players, I was actually glad they limited it compared to Diablo 2, it might have worked there, but by the looks of it, D3 would be perfect with just two or three extra players.

Agreed.

I enjoyed F3 and Oblivion, but yeah, there are not really any memorable boss fights...just a lot of fights.

The Witcher has some pretty good boss fights.

Vampire Bloodlines: Masquerade has several exciting and challenging boss fights. I should play that again.

StrawberryHill

i have bloodlines, but i cant really get into it. the concept is great, but the combat seems so dodgy. ive just done the level in the haunted hotel which was great, does the game speed up a bit?? any mods to recommend?

Well, if you haven't gotten into the game by this point, it may not be for you. At least play through Dr. Grout's Mansion.

I literally just played through bloodlines, and i loved it, especially the boss fights, they aren't too simple, and challenging which is all part of the fun!

I don't see any begging, i just see a bloke wanting to clarify whether a rumour that he's heard from word of mouth is true or not...

I love them both, but im gonna have to go with the original Half-Life. Just the original experience was amazing. Nothing like picking up the crowbar for the first time!
