Read this post very carefully, because it is very important.

Nintendo are begining this generation by introducing families into gaming universally. They're demographic is a combination of family audience, 12 year olds who live with the families, and older gamers like you and me.

The second stage of Nintendo Wii's cycle will be third party games like Mad World, No More Heroes, and Nintendo will move onto middlemarket games for the 14-15 year old who has grown up. So Nintendo will still not be catering to the hardcore but allowing third parties to take advantage of the gap.

towards the later part of the cycle, with an existing library of hardcore third party games who capitalized on Nintendo's general absence in the hardcore market, Nintendo will focus on the older generations who have grown up with Nintendo, who's mum and dad bought a Wii so that they could play Wii Sports.

Haha 12 year olds is the high end of their users. Flexmaster_365

Really? I'm twice that age and I enjoyed Metroid Prime 3, Zack & Wiki, No More Heroes, Super Mario Galaxy, etc.

Nah they are gonna run out of little kids soon. Sales will plummet after this Christmas.Flexmaster_365

Nintendo will move upmarket into the hardcore genre VERY slowly. Remember that by the time this generation ends, that 12 year old kiddy gamer will be 18 or 19 years old...

I think Wii Sports Resort will be awesome. Nintendo haven't even announced the other games for it yet, but the inclusion of Wave Race as ONE game, and the inclusion of Motion Plus makes this a must buy title.

Fallout 3 ...... makes me sad. But I will probably buy it.

As a Wii fanboy who previously hyped this game, I have changed my mind.

The Conduit looks really bad.

One of the few ps3 games that genuinely impresses me. I hope it doesn't flop.Kritical_Strike

I do not own a PS3 **yet** and MGS4 isn't my type of game, although I would pick it up if I owned the system.

LittleBigPlanet is more of a reason for me to buy the system than Metal Gear Solid, sorry fans of Kojima but it's true.

The Witcher
Zack & Wiki

Both are an oldschool revival in quality.

Casualfest.

  • Wii Music - Q4 2008
  • Wii Sports Resort - Q1 2009
  • Plus Wii Sports 2 has that stupid Nintendogs inspired thingy so casual girls will pick up on it. Nintendo will probably market the hell out of that.

Wii Sales aren't only going to NOT slow down, they're actually going to pick up in 2009.
