As a person who owns a Wii and plays PC games, no the mouse is better. Aiming is faster, more accurate, more responses, crosshairs in a fixed location, and personally, I like my ability to change sensitivity in gameanasbouzid

coming soon: see conduit

also...i agree after playing mp3 alot and pc shooters...but the wiimote comes pretty close and is much better than analog

i would say pc>>wiimote>>>>>analog

At the moment I agree that PC Mouse is better than IR Aiming because motion sensing can't replicate the gun properly without Motion+. When motion plus becomes an optional form of control in first person shooters, that will give you a genuine grasp on the weapon and it will feel a lot closer to keyboard and mouse controls.
If not better.
I don't pre-order games unless they're Baldurs Gate 3 Limited Edition with Traditional Game Box, Cloth Map and Art Book or something equivalent.

Like The Witcher Limited Edition box set. That was a nice RPG.
Other than the IR sensor provided by the Wiimote nothing in Metroid Prime 3 would have been less fun with conventional button pressing. Novel ideas yes but it didn't "improve" the experience, it only "changed" it. That's the big difference between what the Wii is actually doing compared to what it was supposed to do.GundamGuy0

Excellent job.

We have essentially replaced ANALOG STICKS with WRIST WAVING in some games, and people don't seem to understand that's it's less effiecient.

Different? Yes.

Improved? Highly Debatable.

Immersion factor plus 1

That's an Improvment IMO.

The immersion in Metroid Prime 3 was highly improved over the originals I thought. Although that was partially due to the IR sensor and motion gestures, but also the IR control of your ship interface.

Could it have been improved upon though?
It's not like next generation they're actually downgrading the graphics back to N64 era. I think I heard that next generation they would abandon the expanded audience. Presumably because by that time they should all be hardcore gamers thanks to Nintendo.Samurai_Xavier

And what exactly will Nintendo do to turn these causal gamers into hardcore gamers? Every expanded audience game Nintendo releases is more casual every time.

They will just have to realize in their own time that Carnival Games is not the pinnacle of gaming. ;)

Most casuals ARE aware that there are way better games out there. They just dont care for those games.

I could use a game like Halo as an example of something which can make people into hardcore gamers. If you think about everything Halo did differently, then it's all about simplification and casualization of the first person shooter genre, to make it easily accessible and therefore popular.

Tilt control in Mercury Meltdown Revolution was pretty fun.MetroidPrimePwn

I really liked MMR. It scored 8.5 here so I'm surprised more people don't mention it. Probably because it isn't a first person shooter, but I recommend people look out for it in second hand racks. There must be a few copies floating around in every shop.

Overall a really underrated game by people on this forum. The Wiimote controls the table.

FAIL!

Expanded Audience =/= Shovelware.

Games like Carnival Games and Game Party are very popular. Who are you to tell people who play those games that they have no right to exist?

There terrible, its like saying Wii music is going to be good

Wii Music will have a lot of appeal to people who otherwise wouldn't bother with games. Later on those people will buy some hardcore games that we enjoy, and the industry will benefit from those people. Thanks to Nintendo for simply inviting them into gaming.

This is sheep's answer to everything. What if they just throw their Wii away in disgust and never get into gaming again because of their bad experience?

My Dad bought a Wii, his first game console. Now he never really plays it, but my Mum does...

Neither of my parents had really been into gaming before. The last game I bought over was Forza 2 on the Xbox360 and my Mum really got into it. Never would have happened if it wasn't for Nintendo. She also likes Mario Kart.

That's why even if you hate the Wii, you must still appreciate it indirectly.
