The funniest thing I have ever heard is the claim some athiests make, that religion causes war, as if the extinction of religion would somehow remove war altogether.

ALAN_WAKE

Nobosy has said that religion causes all wars, just that it cause alot of them. Which is true

Nope...what causes war is mankinds inablility to get along with those that are different...and mankinds greed. Period.

I don't want to join in on the discussion. Just wanna sound off.

It's not about the religion, its about the person. An atheist who bashes religion (especially ON the net) is just as stupid and pathetic as the next religious fanatic that strap bombs to themselves or lecture kids to always do good and kiss ass. Likewise, an atheist who holds firmly to the belief that a god doesn't exist but expresses no ill intent to other people's beliefs because of maturity and understanding is just as valuable in society as the liberal Christian or Muslim that believes in their religion but incorporate modern philosophies and conclusions into their faith because they realize that something in their religion is obsolete and they must update with the times for the betterment of themselves and everyone around them. Unfortunately, there is a complete deficit of the latter group in this world (As evidenced by this thread)

that is one long sentence

QFT, and even if religion does play a part ina war, it's not because of the religion/'s in question but rather the individual who declared war's radical views of religion.

One such example is of course the Taliban. Islam doesn't cause wars but the radicalist views certainly initiate the hatred.

Modern humans evolved some 40,000-60,000 years ago. God revealed himself tohumanity for the first time about 3500 years ago when he told Abraham to leave the city of Ur and found a country in Judea.

why did god wait nearly 60,000 years before he revealed himself to man?

mig_killer2

That's a question only God could answer.

If someone asked me how Winston Churchill must be feeling right now, in what place am I to answer?

God makes it's own decisions so only he would know why he made them. That should answer your question.

For me, it's because Rappers are egotistical, pompous A-holes. They aren't boxers, so there's no need to act so tough all the time.

I don't have a problem with all rap, I mean, some stuff I've heard is good and I do like some artists. But the majority of rappers are tools. Kanye West has great music but boy is he big headed.

Also, rap feuds are ridiculously unneccessary. Like I said, they aren't boxers so stop trying to act like one. These people are meant to be responsible adults.

Didn't he get all pissed off that he didn't win an award or something?

Yeah. Personally, I'd be content knowing that I'd made great music and I was happy with it.

Did Kanye pull the race card that night? I can't remember..
